Stoke there for the taking, if we score another it’s game over.

Ouch!

Thats a real flashback to the pain he was going through. 😂😂😂😂

Wow going through old threads to find my comments to try and prove another team is a bigger laughing stock than Derby!

You must really be embarrassed of your team! That’s desperate.

You won’t find forest on here (oh except for biggest win but even we won’t claim records from 100+ years ago).

“Only the second club in English post war history to be relegated in March”

😂😂😂

And you are calling us bottlers for losing at home to Stoke!!

BBC news just been having a big laugh at Forest. But some wise words though. The greater the pain, the greater the joy when the good times come apparently.

Embrace your suffering reds. Denying it doesn’t help. Trying to divert attention to something that happened to a different team a very long time ago doesn’t help. Acknowledge your anguish, and never forget: we are always here for you.

That's the longest I've slept in for years....hic! What happened last night? I see the Dogs have made the play-offs

Don’t worry, I can embrace it and acknowledge it. Just trying to help you lot do the same, and finally come to terms with the enormity of your failings. Record breaking failings in fact. I know when the trauma is so great it can be hard to process. I am trying to talk you through the process and piece together the gaps in your memory and knowledge of the facts. That way you can start to come to terms with the actual meaning of the event as that’s really what keeps us stuck. The meaning for Forest is that we bottled it and now won’t make the playoffs and will be laughed at for a while.

The meaning for Derby is that you are the worst team in history and will be forever immortalised as the country’s biggest footballing laughing stock.

But we have long embraced and acknowledged it as you know very well reds. I was there, engaging in the gallows humour pretending that we can scored a goal. A sellout crowd every week no matter what. We wear our points total like a badge of honour. Great times. These are your great times. Be like the Rev and laugh at yourself. You can’t fail to see the comedy, surely?

Wise words

You see RAE, we're not bothered. I would not swap that premier season, with my girls and I for anything. You keep banging on but can I gently point out that it t is now 22 years since you graced the top tier - last century in fact, let that sink in.

Show some self-awareness, realise that no- one else is backing you up and laugh.....

Do you think that Lamouchi will be using the “reds_are_everywhere” defence when he has his chat with Marinakis?

“Don’t worry fatty, it doesn’t matter because Derby got relegated once.”

Norwich are cheeky buggers, they have scored less away goals this season than we did in THAT season!

I'm still trying to work out if Da Costa meant that last goal or not Scouse. I aint got time to look at Stats. Great finish 👏👏👏👏

Come on, you say you have accepted it but you haven’t that’s the problem. Just look at Backo’s comment above. Still desperate to make out it’s not funny. Even some people making out it’s their best football memory.

I am just pointing out to you it’s the worst record in England. If you want to be proud of it fine. Pretend it doesn’t hurt then fine. But you lose the right to laugh at others misfortune surely? Or at least lose the point. If you don’t accept being the worst of all time is embarrassing and worth a laugh then what’s the point of competition? Or rivalry? Is that why PP is so quiet? Cause it’s just a place to spend time with friends and family and have a quiet chit chat?

I know many fans of different clubs who love the misfortune of their rivals, that’s part of what makes football great. Never met any that think their own failings are fine whilst still trying to make out their rivals are a laughing stock. I guess it’s just a psychological block.

I have tried to help you with this. I guess ignorance is bliss and that’s hard to fight against. Enjoy 😉

You could ask Gary Charles about Costa’s goal, he might have some insight into that. Pretty sure he scored an own goal once?

posted on 23/7/20

Of course it was funny, but it was a long time ago.

This is funny NOW. Really funny.

I don't think I've ever met a fan other than our very own reds_are_everywhere who can't understand the idea that there is a perverse pleasure in looking back at terrible times, or that there is pride to be had from supporting your team under such circumstances. Derby averaged 32,500 in that season whereas Forest, 2 leagues below and in a promotion year at that, managed fewer than 20,000.

Hopefully no club will ever beat that points total and I am proud to say I was there with my boys whose support did not waver.

You have to see the funny side. Can't you see the comedy in last night? Everybody else can.

These are strange times for Notts Forest - normally they would be celebrating....

We there is a difference between you and me Vidal. I was there when we got spanked by Yeovil. I don’t look back on that and pat myself on the back for being there. It’s a bad bad memory. But I do see what you are saying to be fair, there is some credit to be had for sticking with it. Not much though.
