KTF: of course if you reversed the two halves of the season we'd be happy with 5th; that goes without saying. But we can't and we have to judge it on what it was rather than a hypothetical. And the reality is that the players were given unending plaudits before we collapsed.

If we were to judge the season in two halves, the first half was an A* and the second half was a D-. Overall, I'd probably give us a B, which is fine but we can't hide away from the fact that the second half of the season was a disaster.

IMO, there are too many "we should be happy with this" hot takes. Too many people (mainly pundits) still view us under the prism of being Little Leicester who should just be grateful for anything above a relegation battle. We're not that small club any more, we're a club that has won the Premier League and played in the Champions League. We're moving into a world class, state of the art training ground. We shouldn't be satisfied with a half season collapse just because the first half was outstanding.

Again though, this is considering our form during part of a season which, unless I have missed contributions (which is definitely possible) nobody has been happy with.

If your point is:
Our form recently has been poor.
Our season has a whole has been good (which I’m assuming from your ‘b’ grading).

Then I completely agree.

I assumed the people who feel we should feel positive about finishing 5th meant as a final achievement. If there have been people who have suggested we should be happy with some of the performances recently because we are ‘only Leicester - then I agree, whoever you are, whatever league, you shouldn’t be content with playing poorly.

On that final point, I'm a little irked by some of the comments from Rodgers and Schmeichel over the past few days. The same sort of "we would've taken this at the start of the season" and "we've done really well regardless" takes that we are seeing from plaudits. It just showed a lack of ambition for me; it felt like a case of getting the excuses in early.

We should've spent the week saying how determined we were to see the job through, that failing wasn't an option. Instead it felt like we were playing it down, setting it up for inevitable failure. We got ourselves into a fantastic position but I can't help but feel that a lack of mentality and a general "5th is fine" malaise is what did us in. That might not be the case but it feels like it and it is disappointing.

I'm not saying our season as a whole has been bad - it hasn't. I'm saying our season should have been much better and would have been had we not collapsed in 2020. I fear that we will come to regret it in the coming months and years as I don't see where a top 4 opening is coming from anytime soon.

The problem is not where we’ve finished, it’s the form we’ve finished in.

We don’t start next year’s season in champions league form, we start it in relegation form.

That is why we’re disappointed. A missed opportunity, but also no sign it’s going to improve. What now also happens are players that might not have been looking to force a move this summer might try. Maddison, Periera, Soyuncu may all choose to try their luck at a champions league club. That will weaken us more. So we go in to next season without those players and in relegation form. This it’s a new season and form worn count? Just look what happened under Taylor. Momentum is massive in football.

KTF - do you not have major concerns about or current form?

Lord help us if we lose Ndidi.

Spot on Mersey, I agree 100%.

If we start next season how we have ended this one and how we have performed during 2020, Brendan Rodgers will not be our manager at Christmas. It's as simple as that.

Mersey -The Form has been poor but as others have also pointed out we're missing key players and have been since before the New Year, when was the last time Rodgers had his Full first team eleven?

That does beg the question why are we so reliant on those eleven, that's Rodgers problem to sort out, he needs time to do that.

Has Rodgers made mistakes during this prolonged period, absolutely, he's made poor selections and poorer Substitutions, he has to take his portion of any blame for this period of poor form.

All the missing players should be back apart from Ricardo who with a bit of luck might make it with the later Season start.

Am I worried about that form though, not one little bit.

Great Season - could / should have been better

European Football - Could / Should have been CL but it was the target, it's not a failure to hit the target.

A First Eleven that could beat any team on it's day, we need to get that to a squad that could do the same, that's Rodgers task.

In a weird way, it's a good job that Ricardo is injured otherwise I fear we'd be forced to sell him this summer. He is probably our only genuine world class player IMO and is so important to the way we play. Ndidi is probably our second most influential player. If we have to sell anyone I'd sell Chilwell.

Don’t disagree with any of that TB.

Thomas looks as good as Chilwell to be honest. But so do I so that’s not saying a lot.

It's also worth noting, we're a bigger Club now but the squad of the normal Top Six are worth at least nearly double the value of our squad, we're 8th in the Table.

It might not mean much but imagine have 22 players the quality of our first eleven?

Quality of our first Eleven? What games are you watching.? Reruns of Southampton away?

We have a headless chicken in goal, an injured LB which right now are some of his best performances. Hope you gets sold!

Vardy and N’Diddi are all we have..... Quality that is.

Our right back but he is injured...... 3 out of 11 for quality.

Evans in quickly turning into a foul freak.....

PS Our headless chicken also gave a vote of confidence to an opposing GK just before we played them.. Would of Been good if was headless, then he would not have been able to talk.
