Enjoy your day

This seems a very elaborate plan for City to win the comp...

fiendishly clever if they pull it off, they laid the plans for this back in December in China...got to applaud that

That's a good point sandy. The West Indies had to quarantine for 2 weeks when they came over to follow guidance.

I imagine the government will backtrack on the whole of Spain soon as it's pretty stupid considering only a few regions are affected. They tend to u turn after public backlash.

But if the rules are still in place it's a tricky situation to argue that Madrid don't have to follow the rules.

Considering they can all be tested before coming over and will have been in a bubble in Spain anyway, of course the ruling shouldn't apply to them. Utterly daft to suggest it should.

Common sense people...

Lots of other people coming from Spain would also have been tested, but they will have to quarantine for two weeks. Cannot have one rule for football, and another rule for the rest of us. Nothing to do with commonsense.

You either have a rule in place or you don`t.

We should all know by now that Conservative rules only apply to the plebs. The rich and powerful can pretty much do what they like, and I’m sure Real will find a way out of this.

PL teams have been allowed to travel to Leicester despite it having a higher infection rate than Madrid

posted on 29/7/20

They'll get around by doing an on the spot - at the airport, COVID19 tests - I bet you!

And then they'll just announce the entire team was tested so there is no need for them to have quarantines!

There is no rule in place though for quarantining if you go to Leicester, there is a two week quarantine period in place for ANYBODY coming from Spain.

If that is indeed the case, then why would anybody else take any notice of the quarantining rules.

This is going to cause one hell of a row I suspect, once travellers get wind that Real Madrid may be allowed in quarantine free, whilst other travellers have to quarantine for two weeks, and possibly lose wages or at worse their jobs.

It was stated weeks ago that elite sports teams would be allowed in if they followed strict guidelines

It’s hardly news

That's the point, doubt most normal working people will.

Write to UEFA demanding they give City a bye. If you’re that concerned

It doesn't make it right though.

Whenever you have one rule for the rich and another for the average person it never goes down well.

Its just another example of the money in football overrulling all common sense. The desperation to finish the football season is ridiculous and is not being reported in a way that represents most fans thoughts on the matter.

Anybody might be fooled into thinking that Sky/BBC having plenty of skin in the game has affected how they have covered the restart but I'm sure that can't be the case!!?

Grow up. I am just asking why football teams should be exempt, when everybody else has to abide by rules.

Because they're adhering to an approved and well-monitored scheme where their movements can be tracked. Do you trust all the general public to do the same?

That is not the point, the new rules clearly state that EVERYBODY coming in from Spain has to quarantine.

How hard a rule is that to understand. Oh unless you are Dominic Cummings.

What a complete sham the season has been, I feel sorry for Pool having their name associated with it.
