Had completely forgotten he was at Spurs which says a lot. Looked great at Fulham and he has bags of time on his side.

Yes he can but he needs game time. Either he gets a more main role or send him on loan for a season.

I was please when we got him but am confused as to what his best position is,. Wonder if we. could turn him into a Bale esq sort of player?

Perhaps another overhyped youngster now out of his depth? He did look decent enough at Fulham, but nothing amazing. Maybe it’s an attitude thing?

Never really got why he was so hyped as certainly did not stand out when I saw him play.
Struggled in the Prem with Fulham and was dropped. They must be laughing all the way to the bank with the £25mill the robbed from us with a year left of his contract. ok player but not at that fee.
Funny that he was being linked to all the top clubs in UK and Europe when younger but when the time came and he was available not one of those clubs came in for him. Good old Spurs

The only thing about sending him out on loan is that you’d want him to be playing in the position you’d want.

I can’t think of my teams that wouldn’t just put him as a LW or RW, there’s no point sending him out if he isn’t going to be playing in the right positions.

Before writing off this lad, remember that cracking goal against undoubtedly one of the keepers in the world, Bayern's Neuer! That goal showed technical ability to keep the ball low, power to hit it that hard and confidence to put it past Neuer!

That was one of the few bright sparks on the night.

I hope he gets more game time.

I think this is what he should be moulded into. He has them attributes. Problem is whether Jose thinks it's something he wants in his team.

I think he would prefer a lb but tbh I think he'd be a waste there and no where near as effective. Kids got talent for sure but I just think he will ever be a top draw defender

Pace merchant with a bit of ability, could do ok with a decent coach and used in a position to suit. Gralented player? Not convinced, it seems without pace he’d be playing lower league to me,. Not to say with decent coaching and used in a form that suits him he can’t become more.

He`s not going to improve or develop further if he is not playing, the problem is we are very rarely 3 nil up and cruising, which is the perfect time to bring him off the bench.

Was literally about to post the same, had no idea he was at Spurs.

He is only young, but has shown next to nothing that he will ever be any good at this level. Fulham was probably his level.

He is not that talented. Beyond being quite lacy and showing an ability to get into good goalscoring positions at Championship level, there is no other standout attributes to his game. Still, he is young, trajectories of young players can be unpredictable.

The scary thing was that when he was playing, his confidence took a nose dive. Looked way out of his depth at LB and then I felt he hid when playing LW. Admittedly the whole team were playing sheite.

Was against the signing at the time. Spending £35m on him and Clarke when there were so many holes in our squad was a very poor decision.

Imo, long term is position is left back. Reminds me a bit of a young Danny Rose. Don't think he's good enough to play as an attacking left mid, but he certainly has the attributes to play full back/ wing back.

I would send him on loan with the stipulation he should primarily be playing left back. If he's not going to be sent on loan at least he will have Europa to get a few games.

I shall laugh if he ever turns into a dangerous winger for us next season

Like I said, he showed he has technical ability and he showed also he is tactically naive but that's up to the coach to work on. More belief, more cleverness and awareness, and he could be a devastating flank player.

To be continued...

I am sure if he was really showing something, Jose would be giving him more game time. Sadly he looks like going the way of so many youngsters who show initial promise, and never rise about say Championship Level or below.

People said the same about Bale, and look what happened there, it is stupid to write off young players too soon.
