Danny Ings

He’ll be 29 soon and as you say, would cost quite a bit.

I also think he’s at the age where he would want to be a regular starter and will be better for it.

So I don’t think this would work out.

Be a good kotionnoff the bench. Prem proven andncaoavalenofn15-20 goals per season.

I'd do it

He's better when he is a regular, just look at his stats

Playing for us would probably be 6 games, 5 from the bench and 1 goal

I'd rather have a supersub. We generally lack quality to come in from the bench

four years ago, I mooted on our board we should buy Vardy..

all I got was "he's 29 & wouldn't suit our style of play"

four years on he's still banging them in & just got the golden boot over some pretty good strikers...ings included

I'd love us to buy Ings...but it's not our area of concern now - h'es as fit as he's ever been & a perfect buy

Be a good option off the bench. Prem proven, capable of 15-20 goals per season and a cheaper alternative to Jimenez at Wolves.

I'd do it

Apparently is a huge Liverpool fan as well, so don't know if he'd want to come to us and be a bit part player

If only you’d said so earlier

Don't think he will want to ruin his chances for playing for England by sitting on the United bench.

Ighalo is just the kind of player we need if we’re striking with Martial as the first choice nine: A hardworking plan B.

Strong, powerful, athletic, holds the ball up well, good in the box, prepared and able to press hard.

If we lose Ighalo, we need just the same replacing him.

Ighalo isnt good enough to play week on week out if we suffered a long term injury.

If Martial suffered a long term injury, Ole would move Rashford or Greenwood to nine.

We need a plan B/cup fixture player in the squad, and we can’t keep two quality nines on the bench.

But who then goes left or right to cover them?

You should be going for the likes of Harry Kane

Centre forward plan A: option 1 Martial, 2 Greenwood, 3 Rashford
Centre forward plan B: Ighalo
Left forward: option 1 Rashford, 2 James, 3 Martial, 4 Chong
Right forward: option 1 Sancho (if we get him), option 2 Greenwood, option 3 Chong

That looks a reasonable amount of cover and quality in depth, which would need an apocalyptic degree of injuries to leave us with serious questions about quality up front - and even then one of the best third choice front lines in the PL if James and Chong progress from last season.

Charlie Austin would be better.

He was being benched for West Brom in the Championship. I think his ship has sailed at the highest level. He only really performed there for one season anyway

Charlie Austin is world class. I read it on this site, so it must be true.
