It's a complete shambles of confusion yet again from the GVT.

Nick, Peter Pandemic, Hancock has been all over the TV this morning blaming 'Europeans' for our own spike. This has Dominic Cummings written all over it.

Would this GVT impose restrictions on the SE of England under the same circumstances?

I personally don’t think you could blame any Muslim families for celebrating it as if they didn’t hear the news.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why ? Surely people are capable of checking what restrictions are in place when planning such gatherings?

Not sure Nick Hancock would appreciate being mixed up with the xenophobic, blame Europe lapdog Matt Hancock.

They think its all over....

Large swathes of the Muslim community ignored lockdown restrictions, first time round. I’m expecting more of the same

Behave yourself, if you've made plans at night for the morning, you don't watch the news to check your plans can still stand.

Unfortunately, with a infectious pandemic like Covid people also have to take responsibility for the health of others just as much as themselves. Especially those most closest to them.

You’d need to be in a very secluded and ignorant social group of between you, nobody hears the news. It’s everywhere this morning, TV, Radio, social media etc.

If people are gathering in the regions told not to; it’s because they’ve ignored the advice.

Sadly, that has been a recurring theme throughout the pandemic. A lot of people put more effort into claiming that the advice isn't timely, consistent enough etc than actually following it.

As someone who thinks this government have done an awful job during the pandemic, their local lockdowns seem to be doing a better job.

There have been quite a few reports that transmission is most likely between families spending time in enclosed spaces. A pub for example if following guidelines should be socially distanced correctly and is a very different environment. I imagine some people are much more inclined to hug or be closer together in their own home.

However, I think we're now at a stage where people should be taking their own personal accountability. If some people in this locked down area went over to their friends and socially distance correctly then I don't think anyone would have any issue with that. Personally, if this were imposed in my area tomorrow and I was due to see friends I'd still go, but would socially distance as usual.

People do, but so does the government. Knowing that Eid is happening the next day and then releasing this on twitter is stupidity from this government.
