Look for loan players, who have PL experience, not necessarily 1st 11 choice every game but can do a job AND provide that PL know how

Good luck next season 👍👍

Does it include the £40m we have already spent or committed on Meslier, Costa And JKA.

Ben White was awesome but that amount of money for him is obscene - we can pick up two top class players for that.

All contracts should include relegation clauses, low basic salaries, fitness and weight-stat based top ups with injuries covered by insurance, and bonuses.

Bielsa has shown what a group of hungry, mainly young, players who follow his instructions can do. Important we get players who have that hunger imo.

bielsa is the 1st signing.........if we cannot get white for £25m then give up, sign harrison £6m? & get stones on loan. we then need a another defender as berra is out, and some real fire power, then depending on casilla.

matty longstaff is out of contract & under 23 so a minimal fee required

Jaz.. its not all about having a massive pot of money to spend, you've got to spend it well... you're doing that thing where as long as you see cash being spent you're happy.. its not champ manager!

think its about being sensible, we need to strengthen in area's, but what do you want? - to replace a whole team? - Villa are very very lucky their approach didn;t totally back fire.

Our squad, with a couple of quality laonee's, and a couple of quality players bought will do... lets be sensible, lets focus on satying there / esablishing our self, because in 2 or 3 years time having being in the premier league, foundations layed, we can push on!

or would you prefer to spend 135 million like Villa did on a boat load of players that will need to time to Gel?

this would be the third year of most of the team being to gether.. look a the upwards curve of improvement, why would you replace these improving players on a £20 million player that doesn;t know his teams mates?

I'm not saying we don't need to spend, but some are behaving like a spoiled trophy bird when you buy them a gift - only intereted in price tag rather than the thought.

lets keep our squad, allow it to improe further, but add strength where nessessry.

Hard to know if the figure is correct and if so what is already included in that figure.
We have already spent
£23m bonuses
£16m Costa
£5m Meslier
£19m Augustin possibly

That’s £63m potentially gone

We'll spend whatever we spend is my view. I don't care if we build a squad on freebies who MB (the single most important piece of business this summer) moulds into a solid unit of players.

Media speculation that we have £X to spend I read with a pinch of salt. Why would the club want to publish what the transfer budget is? Makes no sense. What about investment from the 49ers? what about shirt sponsorship etc...….

I honestly don't care how the players are sourced and for what cost (though i'll be horrified if we pay anywhere close to £30m for Ben White - regardless of how good he is/maybe in the prem). I've witnessed and felt the lows of the mad times when we spent beyond our means, then imploded.

Sell Kiko.

Any thoughts on get Lewis Cook back, and what about Delph and Howson ?

And Robert Snodgrass would be perfect, plus Milner !!

Papers would drive you mad reading that we are in for just about everybody! Bielsa and White for starters for me.
Don't know about anyone else but the prospect of Delph and Rose coming back leaves me completely underwhelmed!

Very good point, Spanish. I'm also scared of crashing and burning again, but the PL has evolved into a different beast in the last 16 years.

It's also a great point that Bielsa has shown how he can improve players.

I don't agree with going in for Rose or Delph or any past players. Hungry young players who can adapt quickly are what we need at this point.

The post was really about White and whether we should blow the greater part of what must be a limited budget (in today's PL) on one player, albeit a very important and popular player and a rare talent who is destined for great things.

And I have no idea as to whether money already committed to the signings of Costa, Meslier, etc., is included in AR's budget. If it is, White is off the radar, surely?

I think our -15 team with Bielsa would rip the Premier league a new one!..

Wonder if any fancy having a crack!..

But hopefully, when AR says 45m Bielsa is happy, if not, he'll have to use more academy players, how many of them could be ready!..

I'll depend on Bielsa being happy with what he has and the money he has he'll know what he wants and where, after all, he's got us where we are now doing it his way!..

Doubt the Mail on Sunday have seen any figures to put forward a transfer budget of £45m. They've just guessed.

No way will any transfer budget include the bonuses paid to current players though so not sure why you have included that figure Kebab?

I would like to see us spend the bulk of our budget on two players though (CB & CF)

We should be able to sign a keeper for relatively cheap. I'm less concerned about other positions.

Delph and/or Cook i'd consider. I think under the guidance of MB they'd be assets to the team.

I've no particular wish list as such - it's whoever MB sees as a fit for the team and who we can then get. In glimpses I've seen young players who look likely to step up - but then the Prem is a different beast to champs.

Bottom line, i'd want any business done asap …. get them in, get them training with the squad and try to hit the ground running come kick off.

45 million is not a lot considering the players we've been linked with are being priced at 20 mil +

David - 25 mil
Buendia - 20 mil
Foyth - 15 mil
Almada - 25 mil
Carvalho - 25 mil
White - 25 mil
Luis - 25 mil

Cheaper players linked;

Benrahma - 10 mil
Elhamaddi - 7 mil
Geldhart - 1 mil

There are a few others but I've only listed the most frequently mentioned players. 45 million allows us 1 from the top list and all the bottom perhaps.

Because it’s £23m gone. Already spent. It’s not just player bonuses. It’s extra payments on players due to getting into prem. possibly even payments to gfh / Cellini and even bates!

People assume we have loads to spend but if £63m has already gone then I doubt we still have £45m left

posted on 3/8/20

I really don't want our old players back - I think the likes of Cook, Delph etc. have passed the point where they'd listen to Bielsa regarding training etc.

Milner is quality, but his age is against him given his wage requirements.

The only past player I'd have back would be Roofe.

posted on 3/8/20

Priority is attacking areas and CB. Think we can manage with our current keepers and left backs. We have no cover at right back or CB though with Berardi out for 9 months

posted on 3/8/20

I think 23m that's already gone will not have anything to do with the 45m!..

If AR has said to Bielsa there's 45m, its for you to bring in who you want, than anything else has nothing to do with it!..

Wages are agreed with whoever, and Bonuses, they're paid when they're activated, so that'd be at the seasons end and have nothing to do with the start of contract!..

"People assume we have loads to spend but if £63m has already gone then I doubt we still have £45m left"

If AR has given 45m then the 63m will have been or will be getting sorted, no need for him to say 45 if it isn't there!..

posted on 3/8/20

That’s the point - AR hasn’t said there is 45m. Some journalist has.

If we have to pay out the £63m plus the losses of potentially 1.5 seasons of no gate receipts / match day income where is the £45m coming from?

Club is already heavy in debt with a first team squad on big money And 3-4 year deals still left.

Sure I read AR say that Covid has cost the club £30m!

In terms of old players coming back
Only ones I’d take would be

Charlie Taylor
Kasper Schmeichal
Maybe Chris Wood

And none would be available anyway!

How soon do they sit down with the guys who got us there and renegotiate their salaries. I see this as a huge problem, there is already a disparity in wages between players wages, Kiko is one of our higher earners for example.
New players coming in will expect premier league wages.

Wolves have done a lot of their business through loans with a purchase option at the end of the season. Boly, Jota, Jimenez, Dendoncker have all been purchased this way over the last two or three years. We have had a few loans which didn't work too, who we have sent back.

If you go down that route on a few players, £45 million stretches a little further.
