Does he play same position as Winks? Hopefully Winks will then be relegated back to the bench. Jose is at least addressing as a priority it seems the midfield, which is by a countrymile the weakest part of the side.

That`s OK, just need then to buy another midfielder to replace Winks. Both need upgrading anyway.

Should be a good signing this. In a position we need, prem experience, a good age, leadership qualities and better in the tackle and on the ball than our current options in deep midfield

Can't say I think he will be he midfielder to save us. Always thought Romeu was a decent player though.

That said, the club do seem to have identified him early so they clearly see him as the answer. Or part of the answer should I say.

Can we buy a player to replace Sandy?

posted on 5/8/20

Sandy when I was impressed with him, he played a central role and he was the first player along with Redfearn on one side and Brooks on the other to press high. Really impressive pressing and a few crunching tackles too.
He looks up and wants to move the ball forward.
Unlike you know who.
Also he’s tactical astute with some clever fouls to halt the opposition.

....

Redfearn as in the ex-Barnsley player who played back in the 90s?

And Brooks, the winger who plays for Bournemouth?

Why on earth would you want to do that?
Oooh.... I get it..............the seller would pay you to take a Sandy replacement off his hands!

Hojbjerg has been average though
Kind of reflective of where we are aiming for when you compare who Chelsea bought and who we are going for.

Er I don`t actually play.

I don`t get why supporters on this site take everything so seriously. It is an football forum for giving views on the game. Why do most posters have to act like sheep and follow each other, instead of giving opinions of their own.

Anyone any ideas on where Sessegnon fits in all the plans?

Problem is mate, going for the so called big players for lots of money invariably backfires. Chelsea like us have spent lots of money on rubbish players as well as the odd good one, as have every other team in the league. Ndombele was supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread for big, big money, and he has turned out to be a complete and utter fraud.

I would sooner just buy some not too expensive hardened Prem professionals that do the job, than all the so called fancy dans that cost a fortune and never produce.

I don`t think he does at the moment. I wouldn`t be surprised if Spurs sell him.

lots of games with Europa league and that. He should be one of the 4 wingers we have in the squad with Son, Bergwijn and Lucas.

Could also play as the attacking LB like Aurier does on the right.

If he isnt in the plans for next season he should be loaned out to a prem club.

By all accounts he's a very average player. However, even a very average defensive midfielder would improve this team. As long as he can read danger and break up play he's a good signing.

Would be great if we went 433 with lo celso and ndombele in front of him.

posted on 5/8/20

I don’t now if he is in the plans
No mention of anything about him

Hoping Aurier seals a deal to Milan! Risky because we could end up short there but the money sounds good

What do we think of Sissokos performances after the restart?
He’s blowing hot and cold. What does he offer? Just saying this because we need to streamline the side and have a core that is solid and dependable in the middle. Not a fragile and shy midfield!

posted on 5/8/20

If Hojberg signs I still want another CM. If he can't play due to be rested or injured we are back to square one.

Looks like there is still a discussion to be had regarding Ndombele. If we cash in now we may lose up to £10m. If we keep him and he doesn't improve his value will drop further next season. Gonna have to trust Jose on this one.

Talk of a link with Habib Diallo from Metz, French league.
We desperately need a back up to you know who!
