We were worse than Aberdeen and some part time mob before we spent. Now in late stages of Europe....
You will always outspend is so daft to look at it any other way than good value. And your spending is on a title winning squad not the guff team we had before

I get the point tbf and yes SG has done well in Europe but yes all that money has so far won zip, that said just how much money is spent Globally in football from teams who win nowt either?
Would a cup be enough for Gerrard this season? I dont have a clue tbh, it would be down to the bears to judge their own man once the season is done.

Maybe your side have been decent and hard to beat

Only my opinion but neither SG nor NL will survive being the losing league manager after this season, in fact after the dust has settled one way or the other the winner, loser or both may move on anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Disagree.
If Gerrard lost the league but won a cup or two it would be seen as great progress.
If lennon loses the league but wins both cups he'll be on 7 trophies out of a possible 8. Not a sacking offence.
If either wins a treble, the other probably gets bumped.

No idea Crystal and see your point but just asking say Celtic win the league, would you keep Gerrard on it might possibly be the first time a Celtic/Rangers manager has kept his job after not winning a league at 3 attempts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
'Might possibly'
Try definitely wouldnt be.
All about the league no other trophy matters this year.

Gerrard has had to pull together and build almost a full new squad. And done it for 20m, plus whatever is spent this year.
Given where we were it’s actually been fantastic value for money. Especially considering that it’s probably the same amount Celtic have spent on flops/reserves last couple year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm pretty sure you get £4m flops and £400k flops and that the money is irrelevant. Ditto the guys that are a success.

Cheers Mags was not 100% sure if any manger had kept his job after 3 league failures. I suppose we will just have to see what happens but I reckon both Lennon and Gerrard will have a good think post this season, just my opinion no matter which way it goes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree and disagree. Since you mentioned it I do think that NL will be off at the end of the season, on his own terms either a hero or bad luck old chap. SG no league win doubtful he would remain, unless there were a cup or two and the league went down to the wire. Win the league I think he stays.

Lex...could be wrong but i suspect there's quite a few.
From memory, jimmy mcgrory won one title in about twenty years.
Tommy Burns?
John Greig?
Scott Symon?
Davie White?
Yup the ruthless axing of managers is a more modern day trend
Got a bottle of that Brewdog rum today https://www.brewdog.com/blog/introducing-five-hundred-cuts-rum
Interesting - almost a cross between rum & gin.
Worth a try.

Course money is relevant. Mental to say otherwise. If you sign a 5m players there’s rightly far more expected than a 500k player.
Kent’s price tag is often held against him for that very reason.

Aye, me neither, but it sounded interesting. I love interesting stuff. My wine vendor regularly buys in ranges of such stuff and markets it as 'oddities' and it is brilliant - love perplexing guests with it!
