Probably the best part of £400 million in 4 years and yet to see if it's right.

Not really a big deal when you're winning titles and more of an observation than anything.

Yep. And Stones. Both of these aren't particularly in favour with Guardiola though and at least one of them will probably move on.

Eric Garcia played the majority of recent games, but he's gone 1 year left, has turned down a new contract and Guardiola thinks he will leave.

Well if you compare your transfer policy to a club that has done a terrible job of transfers in recent years then that's your prerogative.

In fairness, it is a bit of an embarrassing amount to have spent on a defence that looks nowhere near the finished article.

I think City fans would agree with that without the bravado of the forum.

Defensive recruitment has been hit and miss over recent years - but Pep doesn’t sign the defenders or any of the players so it has nothing to do with him, contrary to the op.

We’ve spent big on a lb, spent little, and used a homegrown, so far neither of the 3 have been able to hold down the spot on a convincing long term basis 🤷‍♂️

But I think my comments were more just generally as a club, though however embarrassed you are about your club's poor record on the defence, you can't be as embarrassed as I am about United's transfer record

The back 4 and GK that won us the titles in 2012 and 2014 cost less than £50m, replacing them proved more costly.

Zinchenko was homegrown, one good season but couldn’t refind the form

I’m sure Pep does have a bit of input, but really any criticism of our transfer policy aimed at him is just lazy and totally unjustified

I agree with you to an extent about Pep, but it does leave him open to criticism if he can't work with all these top whack signings you're making.

He's a world class coach but it does feel sometimes as if he can only work with the very best individuals to make them better... he struggles with average players.

As generous as calling Pogba homegrown after he joined you from Le Harve.

That said, comparing the signing of a 16 year old with the signing of a 19 year old full international is a bit far fetched.
