Harsh on Lasogga and Nketiah.

Both did a job.

Terrific article

I wouldn't have Roberts, Alioski and Meslier under the great catagory, nor Ben White. We signed White on loan and have made Brighton a better player, why didn't we get him whilst he was at Newport? Think the other 3 are just ok. We spent 5 million on Eddie and Kev whilst Brentford signed Benrahma for 1.5. Think Orta's recruitment has been mostly a shambles, don't give a fook about his funny jibes, his job is to sign decent players for a decent manager at a decent club.

Lasogga for the game time he got did well!..

Shaun, you do talk some crap at times!..

What's crap about it?

Roberts has barely scored 10 goals for us
Meslier is just ok, nothing great yet.
Alioski is a fairly good championship player, not exactly a 15 goal a season winger like Harry Wilson was for Derby.
Ben White was superb, but he's not our player, we've made Brighton a 25 million player. Should have spotted him first instead of signing Diaz and Halme. Benhrama deal was excellent, Kev and Eddie weren't.

Not sure that's crap. Orta has signed about 50 players and the best one has returned to his parent club .....

All who played a part this season and last should be in the fantastic camp. Irrespective whether you like the player or not - results count

Getting Ben White was fantastic business - anyone who is trying to mark down Orta because he is not our player and his owners won’t sell him Is just, well, salty.

Saiz should be in the brilliant camp. Awesome player whose desire to return to Spain meant he and we lost out.

We know that LUFC requires a special type of character else a player can be overwhelmed. Many great players have failed - Ian Rush a case in point - but that does not come down to the person recruiting them. Every player who has been sold on and done well should be in the fantastic camp

In my opinion, and knowing that football chews people up and 90% of youngsters don’t ever make it, Orta is probably as good as any club can expect. And fans expect miracle workers to be employed by LUFC instead of humans

Bottom Line : Orta and Radz have got us promoted

All opinions are now irrelevant - results show success, whining shows bad character

How is Eddie in the bad camp???

Also this article highlights that for the majority of his time, Orta has made some bad decisions. The sale of Roofe and pontus for next to nothing is also worth an extra minus 10......

Personally, worried about his risk taking in signings - can get away with it in championship but will be punished big time in premier league if he makes a few bad decisions

Why are all opinions irrelevant? He’s made more mistakes than got things right ...just a fact. Yes we are promoted more because of bielsa than Ortas signings... we’ve simply got to get recruitment right this summer otherwise we’re coming back down minus bielsa..

take away bielsa and i he fails miserably. no other manager we've had could promote that bunch.

Great research Kebab👍

Struijk could move to the great group if his performances at the end of the season are anything to go by. Looks a decent player

Bit harsh on Bamford. Do you really rate Roberts and Meslier higher

Eddie Nketiah did ok - watch the season review think the rating is harsh.

....having said that I think the OP is a very good piece of work- hadn't realised just how many duds we signed.

Finally just to be controversial I would put Patrick's all round game and contribution as great but on this season alone only.

Excellent article - good work Kebab

Odd rankings. I'd question why there isn't a good category worth +20 if you're going to have a bad category worth -20. Feels like that weights it towards the bad signings.

There's also a fair few I'd disagree. It's too early in the morning for such a long post though.

Excellent article

Orta has had a mixed bag in the transfer front but without doubt his greatest legacy will be bringing Bielsa to the club.

Eddie didn’t fit the system and was expensive. Scored some useful tap ins which contributed but never understood why we signed him.

Lasogga again very expensive and he wasn’t fit. Again he scored some goals and I liked him but results didn’t improve for the huge outlay

Pontus was sold on for more than we paid for him.
Roofe wanted to leave

Problem is, when I first check my phone on a morning I tend not to have put my glasses on yet, so I do miss stuff

It would be interesting to know Orta himself thinks recruitment has gone. I feel that regardless of what we say on here he'll be pushing to have more 'hits' and learn from stuff that didn't work. He won't be resting on his laurels.

He’s been seen at Manc airport early this morning. Arrivals or departures I’m not sure. Looked like departures.

Think Sam Dolby is an interesting one, arrived at Thorpe Arch from Orient never played for us and stayed less than a year played a couple of times on loan at Morecambe then signed for Watford.
Only shocking if we paid more than we sold him for.
Most U23 signings don't work doesn't mean it's shocking business if they don't live up to expectations.

Did Orta predate TC or the other way round?
