X amount still owed in wages

We will have given Sanchez half, with Inter paying him the other half and more over the 3 years of his contract with them.

I doubt we will have paid as much as half. As Sanchez has the benefit of having that lump sum (whatever it is) sat in his bank earning interest, rather than being paid weekly or monthly.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Why would he leave for less than what he was owed unless their was some financial.incentive? He had us over a barrell
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have just explained that in my last post. Having the lump sum in his bank would earn him more interest than being paid weekly or monthly. So he isn't any worse off. He might even have some investment plans for it that can earn him more than it just being sat in a bank.

It's an interesting topic when little else is happening at the club.

For a start, he might have been willing to slightly cut his total earnings in order to play regular football at a team where he has been successful, instead of languishing on the bench at a team where he has been a flop. Some footballers are motivated by having the opportunity to play high level football.

but it's pure guesswork. i mean, really, no one will ever confirm the numbers, so it's the wildest of wild speculation.

and one thing people still seem to be overlooking is the lower top tax rates currently in italy, which means that inter can pay him a lot less than united and he still ends up with the same amount in his pocket.

This is Man Utd, we overpay for absolutely everything, we give players like Sanchez stupidly large contracts...Made Pogba the most expensive player in the world, paid 80m for Maguire...

And you still doubt we have paid half?

Good to get the £2.5m per week off the wage bill.

That’s Sancho’s transfer fee paid for over the next twelve months

I very much doubt he would accept less than half what we owned when he could hold out for all of it and continue to go on loan for the duration.

As you’ve taught us through persistent repetition this last week, it isn’t a matter of your doubt, though, is it?

Where’s the evidence?

I think I you are mistaken. We’ve just transferred the same amount to Sancho per week. All we had to do is swap ez, with o.

Are you stupid?

Having less than half the total amount as a lump sum gives him the chance to earn more than half the total amount through interest and investments. So he is actually as well/better off. Plus he signs a new deal that is 1 year longer than his existing deal - thus guaranteeing even more money. And he gets to play regular football. Now if you don't understand that, I can't help you any further.

Did he do a piano outro?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

the club are saving that for when Phil Jones is leaving.

He'll be tinkling away, hitting all the right notes when the lid accidentally slams shut, breaking his fingers, scuppering his transfer.

Not sure a question mark was required there looking at who it was aimed at.

If we see a few more transfers out, his departure might be looked back on as emblematic of a broader Alexodus of dead wood this summer.
