Most likely because he's the first world class centre half they had after Campbell and unlike Campbell, he stayed at Spurs.

Yes, league cup 2008 v Chelsea. Lifted the trophy as captain.

I'm tired of telling supposed Spurs fans on here that Ledley King was by far the best defender in England at his time. His career was cut short by a congenital bone condition that affected his knees.
He was selected for the England WC Squad to South Africa WC even though it was known he would not be able to play in consecutive games ...he was THAT good!
And yes, he captained the 2008 Spurs team that beat Chelsea in the League Cup final.
Will be a great addition to the coaching staff

He had a liking for being carried out of night clubs too pished to walk. LEGEND!

LFC fans need not concern themselves with the question why a local lad, came through the academy, developed in to a world class defender, captained the club, showed loyalty staying his whole career, is considered a legend amongst Spurs fans
