Why are they putting people at risk if they're self isolating?

posted on 6/8/20

so a supporter could purposely visit a clubs players so they have to field a weakened team?

Surely the positive tests mean the others have tested negative and are therefore not I'll?

They play Hamilton at home on the 12th. Is that game still taking place within the City?

Yes?

They'll get off their bus at the ground, play the game, go home. The stadium will be as sterile as possible.

Aren't they putting players at risk?
--------------------------------------------------

Almost 8 Billion people on the planet and around 700k deaths, many of whom would've left us anyway.
So no.

8 players missing? Surely that's merit for postponement? Not fair on Aberdeen to miss that many players.

The game should be postponed.

The players caught it because they went out to pubs on Saturday night.

No sympathy for them but nothing to do with the protocol around the game itself.

Nobody knows how they caught it.

The squad will have been tested rigorously before any football is next played.

Yes they do, they were all in a pub in Aberdeen. The cluster originated from Aberdeen pubs.

The latest on Scottish club Aberdeen is that eight of their players have to isolate due to Covid after contracting it in a bar following Saturday's defeat to Rangers. #GraniteCity #Covid19

Haven’t read the links, have the players been tested and found to be positive or was someone in the pub they were in found to be positive and the players have to isolate as a result???

Two players tested positive. Both are asymptomatic but are self-isolating, along with six players who were "in close proximity".

Cerny, Logan, Ross, Wright and some youths, so can still put out a team, so def wont be called off

Some saying Ferguson wasn't out, not sure

The measures taken mean football can carry on in a bubble even in the event of an outbreak. Leicester carried on playing their games despite local lockdown as will now Aberdeen.

posted on 7/8/20

Not gonna argue it should be called off, but with whats going on in Aberdeen it would make sense surely?

posted on 7/8/20

There's going to be local spikes, if we call off every game that involves a team in that area the next season is going to be even more of a mess than this one.

The governing body have put in the money to have their footballers and staff rigirously tested (plus I imagine the ground is cleaned 50x over) with the intention of carrying on throughout this crisis, footballers are arguably the safest people in the world right now.
