PL Young Player of the Season Nominations

There'sOnlyOneRed's (U1721)

I think he'd start more games overall and I think you'd start to see him rotate centrally as well as on the right.

Naby8 Martial has been in incredible form this season. Greenwood and Martial are currently 2 of the most in-form strikers in world football now.

I’d be surprised if Greenwood started 20+ games in the prem next season. Not unless we pull out of the deal for Sancho, which I can’t see happening.

Rashford, Martial and Sancho would then start the vast majority of premier league games. Which is why Greenwood will find it hard to challenge TAA for this award next season.

It would be stupid leaving one of the best finishers in the world out for Sancho or Rashford.

Next season will be hectic, 2 games a week from almost the start. There will be a lot of opportunities for rotation.

Honestly can see £100m+ offers coming in for Greenwood.

I’m sure there will be rotation. But TAA will be a nailed on starter playing the majority of games. Greenwood won’t be doing the same for us. Which makes it hard for him to compete for this award - assuming TAA keeps at the level he’s showing.

Won't happen. Don't think there's currently a club around that could legitimately spend £100m on Greenwood.

Don't get your point of view. Any manager in football will pick one of the most clinical and dangerous strikers who can score out of nothing consistently. It is a no brainer really. Imagine being a defender or goalkeeper and have Greenwood anywhere near the goal and bang its in before they can react.

.....

Three days to get it done if Dortmund are to be believed.

Literally no-one is making a bid for Greenwood. FFS Hafi

Imagine being a goalkeeper and knowing Greenwood is about to shoot. The ball is in the net before they can react.

Everyone would like a striker like Greenwood. How many players can make scoring goals out of nothing look so easy? Just give him the ball anywhere 20-25yds out and he will do the rest lol.

That doesn't mean teams will be putting in bids for him.

We won't even sell him for £100m or even £200m anyway. He is too valuable to us. Haven't seen a player finish like this for us in a long time. You can see when he shoots, he makes sure the keeper has next to no chance of saving it. You see many strikers make it easy for keepers. Only Martial comes close to that level of finishing.

Exactly. One of the reasons why no-one will put a bid in.

The same Martial who's goal record for Utd is only just better than 1 in 3?

If he's an exceptional finisher then he's been hiding it very well.

He always has been a great finisher Martial.

I wouldn’t say he has. Most United fans will tell you he’s a very good finisher. Getting into positions to score regularly has been the issue in his time at the club.

Now with Fernandes in the team, he will shine a lot more. Next season if Martial and Greenwood as well as Fernandes stay fit for most of the season, we could win the league. Also if we play either Henderson or Romero instead of De Gea.

Fair enough mate, you watch him more than me. Stats only tell you so much I guess.

There are stats that will back up his finishing prowess. It’s been up there with a lot of the best forwards. But there’s more to it than that, obviously.

A forward that will get more opportunities, but not finish as well as he does, is still a more valuable forward if it’s contributing to a lot more goals.
