I think we are pretty much in as good a place as we could have hoped for right now.

Team looks well organised and up for it. We have two new exciting attacking options to bring in and guys like Kent, Aribo and Hagi are all well bedded in.

Defence looks solid. Shout out to Goldson who has been excellent and had a few moments of real class this season. He only seems to get a mention for the very occasional mistakes he makes but he is a key part of the team IMO.

We have a king way to go before we find out if it’s going to be good enough but it’s certainly an encouraging start 👍

Only thing I’m not convinced by is Jack/Kamara both deep. Would like a proper captain in that position, and one to be more creative. Saw Kamara have a decent shot for the first time I can remember. Would like to see more of that.

Gerrard sticks to his tactics, and that’s what cost us last year. First games have gone similarly, and though Saturday was comfortable in end can still see teams frustrating us.

Goldson is our best CB - gets are a fair amount of criticism on twitter which is not well over the top.

Good start to the season, plenty of quality and options on the bench.

Long way to go yet......

Totally agree with this. They are too similar and for me, I would have Jack every day of the week over Kamara. Need a Barry Ferguson but they don't come cheap.

We should only need one defensive mid when especially when we play at Ibrox. Unfortunately Jack and Kamara are not good enough to do it in their own. I also think they're not quick enough.
It's a pity McCrorie hasn't kicked on the way we had hoped as I think that's the type of player you need in there.

Some good points.

Impressed with McLaughlin in goals. Some decent saves at 1-0.
Morelos looked in the mood. All he needs to do is keep it up and his move will happen.
Balogun seemed like a panic buy for cover but is looking like he'll be hard to drop. Great business.

I was disappointed with SG starting both Kamara and Jack at home to St Mirren. No need for 2 holding players. Something which I feel will affect us in the games we just can't break teams down when they sit in. I'd have preferred Davis or Arfield with one of them as they offer more going forward.

Can't say much in Itten as it was a cameo appearance.

2 win. 2 clean sheets. Can't ask for more. 👍🏻

The only time we should consider using 2 holding midfielders at home is against Celtic and even then it's not for me.

I thought Kamara was looking to get forward a bit more yesterday compared to normal. Although I would still like another midfielder to come in as I still feel we're short of that little bit of quality.

Thought we played alright yesterday. Alnwick kept the score down for them and it was good to get Morelos back on the scoresheet. As long as he's here we need him to be hitting the back of the net.

I believe he plays in a more attacking role for Finland

McLaughlin has generally looked solid though he had a hairy moment or two yesterday. Balogun has looked very good. Morelos was more like his old self.

Overall a very good win though obviously it's early days. No reason to moan - though I know that will disappoint some of our fans!

McLaughlin I think is an excellent signing, can see him really pushing McGreggor for number 1. Balogun another excellent free signing, looks to have great pace for a cb. Spoilt for choice at cb now.

Morelos would love to keep and see him up top in a front two. Against the likes of St Mirren and teams parking the bus I’ve no idea why we’ve not seen it. Know he’s probably gone, but we’ve probably spent 11/12m so same as last two summers.

Still a few to shift out, and not seen any loan signings yet. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a winger in on loan.

Balogun I really like look of. Overall happy with the game yesterday as other than a couple minutes at beginning of second half where St Mirren gave a wake up call Rangers were in complete control and looked capable of getting goals. Another v St Johnstone would be nice.

No reason to moan - You ok mate?

Was worried about the lack of goals yesterday, mentioned it on the live thread and up pops Alfredo moments later with a double haha Early doors but all n all happy with our start

Hopefully itten and roofe can make up for the loss of Alfie.

We have scored 4 goals and he either scored or assisted them and that's when folk say he is unfit and disinterested

As for Rangers, good performance to a man pretty much.

I hope we do keep Morelos but my head says there is no chance.

I think we are well stocked in the squad now but theres a few that still need there future sorted.

Davis needs phased out, will do a job off the bench but i feel him or Arfield should leave so we can give Docherty a sniff after another successful loan but i reckon he will keep them both and sell Docherty.

Murphy hasnt come back from that injury really so we would move him if we could i think, same for Jones and Middleton.

I'd like one more dynamic midfielder and someone attacking from the right.

I think Arfield is pretty schite. Good guy to have about but he's not a starter, he's nearly 32 with no value. Docherty makes more sense to me and i don't see much difference in quality between them.

The manager likely doesnt fancy Docherty though.
