The money men won't mind it dragging on though I'd imagine. The more rumours the more clicks etc. The marketing team will be delighted!

I did highlight that to RDD the other day, while he was in his 'i'm always right' mode in regards to Sancho.

The money men are loving all this free exposure.

Didn’t Jamal Lewis just turn Liverpool down?

That’s pretty embarrassing to be fair.

Problem with this is it always causes problems for the manager. Obviously not every deal can be done swiftly, but preparations for the season are always hindered by the club’s negotiating tactics.

Must be frustrating being United manager. You know we have loads of money, but then the club play silly ballacks for ages only to then end up paying what clubs wanted in the first place.

from a footballing POV that is the worst thing we can do. But utd has not been run like a proper fc in while so it wouldn't surprise

my hope is ole does not stand for any games and shenanigans behind the scene

While i would normally agree with you about Ed in regards to transfers, the Covid financial impact has affected all clubs. With us being the only likeliest club to be able to afford Sancho this summer, the club was being cautious.

Now, if we do have the money to afford him and that is still the plan to get him. Then i just hope the club pays Dortmund the money and not play stupid waiting games. If the club doesn't feel it is right under the current circumstances, then just move on and focus on other important areas of the squad.

I really don't want this club to drag out this saga all through the window and create a ripple effect on preparations.

Yes it is from the the footballing side of things. But Ed doesn't always translate negotiating tactics with things happening in preparations. He's had a history of backtracking and causing unecessary obstacles. It could be another window of the same Ed. Hopefully not though.

I also wish Ed would use his money brain to get as much money for out going transfers as he does with marquee signings.

Prem, true but it’s a common theme with our transfers.

King, it has been, which is a concern. But I have a feeling that Ed will go in with an offer later in the window. It's going to be a bittersweet moment.

But this is what I’m talking about. The club piiiiiss about for ages then go back in with what the club wanted originally.

It’s clearly got to be frustrating for the manager. It’s difficult to prepare for the season when your main signings haven’t joined up with the club until late into pre season - or even when the season has started in some cases.

Given the issues with covid I imagine that Ole is more understanding as there won’t really be a proper pre season. But the way we negotiate has a common theme.

Premier League winners and you can’t even attract a Championship player.

King,

Which is why Dortmund are playing the patient waiting game.

Ed, thinks he's smart by calling the potential selling club's bluff. But it has often backfired embarassingly. He has set a dangerous precedent now. As if being a cash cow club didn't already have it's own problems in the transfer market, we've shackled ourselves down with some of his stupid tactics.

If we want to set an example now, we need to stand firm. But in this case, we could really do with Sancho.

Either we do it for another target or carry on fecking ourselves up.

Big dilema.

You’re just as likely to sign him as you were a week ago.

If it is over 100m though, I think two 50m players would be the better buy though. It’s not just that position that needs sorting (and I’m not sure it needs prioritising over others too)

Melts, i do think Ed will put in an offer later on in the window. But it's the fact that he dilly dallies about too long scuppers preperations.

Either we do the offer asap or not at all and focus on other areas of the team.

If Ed wants Ole to succeed (thus taking the some of the negatives away from Ed) then he must act accordingly to the manager's needs. It's the least that Ed can do for Ole.

And also Ed is a gimme for marquee signings, so there is that feck up

Right wing is definitely the priority position in this team.

That doesn’t mean other areas don’t need addressing, they do, but we’ve not had a competent right winger since 11/12.
