Hmmm. Following this logic should anyone who does something stupid like this have their employers cease trading for two weeks?
------------------------------------------------------------

If your job involves repeated close physical contact with no PPE with the person who has breached quarantine rules after visiting a country experiencing a Covid spike (and who despite testing negative so far may or may not have the disease) then it would make sense for your colleagues to self isolate for the duration of the incubation period until they can be sure they are not infected.

I am not sure what other industry you had in mind - i.e. one who has received the types of dispensations afforded to footballers (and other team contact sports) to allow them to start back with a degree of controlled risk.

Most other industries still need to physically distance, wear PPE etc at all times.

You’re either fudging the issue or incredibly naive. We’re discussing someone deliberately and knowingly breaking the rules which means not adhering to advice.

Games cancelled is PC gone mad. The need to be seen to be politically correct is astonishing. I do laugh at the explanation for cancelling games ‘for the public’s health’. So, to protect the public they’ve cancelled football games you wouldn’t have attended anyway, and you could only watch on the tv. Players will continue to train, and postponed games will be played in the future. How does this protect the public?

Selling Edouard now would be a big mistake. You might say there’s a chance of immortality at risk. Eddie’s what’s selling the season books and he’s knocking them in for fun, so PL best not sell unless there’s a ready replacement lined up. Which just isn’t realistic. We talk about being a big club wanting to be ready for the qualifiers every year. And usually there are two/three gaps in the squad needing filled. But Our squad is healthy atm and settled. Why mess about with a winning formula? No point creating a problem that doesn’t exist. Trying to bed in a new forward would be a nightmare scenario.

CL money is quite important to Celtic. Qualifiers being only one leg this season, so the results will be far less predictable. We need to give ourselves every chance by having our strongest team available to NL. #Must keep Eddie

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree said it yesterday but a fine to Celtic and aberdeen and boli sacked would have been the appropriate response.

Considering the player is negative cancelling was just the SNP targeting Celtic to get at us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No chance, the Scottish Government had to take a decisive action, if high profile people aren't punished everyone else takes the pash.

See Barnard Castle.

The were lenient on Celtic in the circumstances, even allowing you to fudge the time when he got back so you can play CL.

Wouldn't fvckin surprise me

I mean that would happen if someone in a workplace went to fooking Spain and came back straight into work and the Police found out.

I am doing neither.

The context ie within professional football and the nature of the breach is what determines the level of risk.

Not all breaches of the rules are the same and the potential impact is different on different industries.

Football is a contact sport so its relatively high risk to continue as is after exposure to someone who might have the disease.

Haven't read all the posts so don't know if this has been raised before: WTF would anyone fly to Spain for one night? It's either sex/drugs or fly discussions with another club. Let's hope to fwck it's the latter. 👍

Celtic SLO confirmed they had 2 days off-Monday and Tuesday-so if he wasn’t back on the Tuesday for training on the Wednesday then that’s strange.

There’s a lot of absolute trash getting spoken on rangers forums about this, going as far as to suggest that we played him on the Sunday knowing he had been away. They’re want to know if there’s any bears can check the flight manifesto to make sure he left and came back when he did.

And they say that we’re the only obsessed ones.

Ok. Here’s the rub. Why should football, never mind Scottish football be made an exception. In England there were repeated cases of footballers breaking the rules. They weren’t dropped, never mind have their clubs games postponed.

It’s nothing more than a pathetic show of “I’m boss” from hers truly. Absolutely pathetic. In so saying I’m glad a warning shot has been fired. The guy is clearly an idiot.

But let’s not kid on this is nothing more than what I’ve said above.

Scottish football is not above the law but neither should it be treated in a discriminate manner like this either. Anyone who actually buys into this rubbish deserves all the government control they can stomach.

Self isolate but the clubs have signed up to a testing regime. He’s tested negative. He’ll be tested again before tonight as was planned no doubt. He’ll be tested twice a week. All planned. All again before any games.

It’s a fwcking nonsense.

Fwck me. Wait until she actually does get full legal control of Scotland if there’s independence.

I doubt he’ll be getting tested anytime soon. I’d be surprised if he was anywhere near Lennoxtown right now for anything other than another bollicking.

Aberdeen incident got what it deserved a slap on the wrists

I think the Boli incident was dealt with accordingly also

he went to Spain, a place that hasn't been out the news for 2/3 weeks in regards to self isolating etc

he never told his employers

spent 2/3 days in close proximity of 30-40 people then could've potentially of taken the virus from GG&C down to A&A

I don't think they had much choice other than to come down on us
