I’ve been to restaurants to make the most of this government discount scheme and I’ve not been asked if any details, but I don’t know if it’s just pubs are meant to ask.

Not sure what the fuss is about.

I thought the 'accepted' rhetoric was that the BAME community are at fault for the rise of cases

Friday night, NW London, had to book a table and give contact details. Had 1 pint and left because what was already a pricey pub then bumped them up further, presumably thinking the punter has to subsidize.

It's a brewery pub and the landlady was very apologetic.

It's not hard to implement. Most good ones I've seen just put a qr code there and ask you to register details on entry. Takes 30seconds.

Every time I've been to a restaurant with seating or cafés, I've been asked for my details.

I’ve been to 3 so far and haven’t been asked anything, looks like it’s not just the pubs sticking to the rules.

Pub I went to the other day had a mobile number you text a code to.

Idiot landlords who don’t comply. It’ll only end up with pubs having to close again.

Posing as customers. Isn't that classed as deception, espionage which is unethical? Hate it when journalists go spying.

Been into local off licence and every time there is a young male not wearing one despite everyone else wearing one. Then again, us young men aren't at risk. young healthy men are more likely to be killed by a polar bear in than die of covid 19.

Been to a few pubs in the last couple of weeks. None have asked for details.

Only had one where social distancing was not observed at all. It was when the fa cup final was on and the pub was too full. All tables were taken so many were standing and in close proximity to different groups.

It looks like case numbers are starting to tick up, will be interesting to see how the government handle things. I do things would be the first thing to close if things get bad again.

UK also records highest number of Covid-19 cases for nearly two months. Second wave? 🌊

Not going to any pub for a good while, aside maybe one nearby which is set up so you can stay outside the whole time. Don’t trust it (or eejits) yet.

Been to a fair few pubs with differing rules/laws. All have been outside though.

Pub where I live got fined &10,000 for flaunting the rules.

OP

Was in republic of Ireland on wee break and staff hsve masks on, and we ate outside...gave bloke my card to pat etc.

Up here in Ulster, we went out last week for meal de and staff harass on too, and you took pic of code on table to order and had to give trace mobile number when booming.

Local bar near where I was die on Saturday tested positive with guy in beer garden, so it's Russian roulette still.

I've eaten out once and all they took was a number and name when I booked. Nothing when I got there.

In Wales you're only supposed to share a table in a pub with members of your household and members of the household you've bubbled up with. However, judging bu the 'nice to go for a drink with this one' social media posts I've seen not many are complying with social distancing. That's on the individual though rather than the business although it's pretty obvious a gang of eight girls/boys don't live together!

When I was 18 I'm not sure how careful I would have been. But at 75 it would be curtains for me, and that's what needs explaining. When you're young you get a cough, give it to someone old and you kill them.

But am 56 and not into going out now as did it for three decades, but tough to tell kids to sit indoors when sun and mates are out

I went to a pub in England recently and it was a very unpleasant experience, because it had English people in it. No offence. Unless you're English.

We're good thanks. We are as far away from Barry as we can be in Wales though where we live!

I knew it would happen but putting it on Facebook is pretty stupid. Especially when they've been slagging others for not complying with the regs!

This.

English people running about in England ruin it for everyone.

Well said.
