There is an air of entitlement about this thread. Like Brighton are, for some reason, obliged to sell him to you.

Brighton hold all the cards and can value as they wish.

Exactly.

The reaction from some of the Leeds posters here is, quite frankly, laughable.

Hilarious, isn't it.

Can't wait for Leeds to find out what their level is again.

3 bids made and 3 rejected, so time to move on.

Can't understand the negativity towards Brighton as they are only looking after their own interests like all other clubs would do.

There was an 'internet rag' rumour the other day that
Brighton were looking for 35 mill+. Maybe they are.

More than likely they just love the player. He's already excellent
at a young age. Potter and Brighton stated toward the end of the season that they wanted to move their team more toward their youth. Hello Ben. Don't blame them. He's going to be great.

Shame. Really hoped we'd convince BHA to sell.
Only worry now is, and someone said it earlier, was Ben's signing tied to MB staying? Doubt it. Or should say hope not. Maybe club will up their offer one more time? Maybe
we'll just move on. Either way, massive
thank you, cheers and good luck to Ben White.

He was a huge part of our promotion.

We are on the up unlike some clubs.

Totally understand that and it's long overdue.

Can't imagine you'd be willing to let your better players leave without a fight if a bigger club came in for them though.

£30million is a lot if that source is to be believed.

He still has a lot to prove. We didn't do a whole lot of 'defending' this season because of our dominance of possession, so how good White is going to be at actual defending stuff against top class strikers is still uncertain.

Problem is if we go for other options, we have 4 weeks till the season starts whereas White knows the football and the team already so no settling in period. Given the uncertainty of this market, maybe the best option is to go for Ben White at 35mil...we'll be overpaying massively though.

This is a risk for Brighton as well. If no one meets their demand, his value could plummet if he has a bad or underwhelming season for them.

We'd do better leaving it, truth be told people were watching him before the Arsenal game, so, we can outbid the likes of Liverpool who'll just add 2m to anything we try, or we can try and match Chelsea's supposedly reported 40m!..

Think White will be a Liverpool or Chelsea player next season, unless he says no then he'll remain at Brighton!..

Agree Best. I'd be fine with a last ditch 35 mill bid.

After that fook it. Alternate options that are Prem
level should be able to pick things up quicker than
a lot of the players we've had last decade or so.

Maybe that's why Foyth's name crops up (Poch),
and Man City loans (Pep). They are used to an
MB-similar system. So should bed in quicker.

Who knows? Regardless, this beats the sh 1 tty summers we've had the last 16 years.

Good point Germany.

Maybe he signs for Liverpool or Chelsea
and we go loan him from that new team?

Sense of entitlement?

World class coaching and lots of game time, together with an outstanding club environment at Leeds, have shaped Ben White into the 20million plus prospect he appears to have become. There's no sense of privilege - we only want further return on that considerable investment and we're prepared to offer 30 mill. That's more than reasonable, not overprivileged.

Agree with 46Years: Ben White may well end up losing out on the career move of all time due to the greedy b'stardos at Brighton. Bielsa won't be around forever.

The entitlement comment was based around some of your fans on here giving Brighton grief for not bending over and giving Leeds what they want.

What makes you think that he won't be getting world class coaching, lots of game time, together with an outstanding club environment at Brighton.

Also, it might just be that he is perfectly happy to stay at Brighton.

I was responding to the charge that Leeds fans think the club has a right to White's services. It's clearly reasonable we would want this player back and we are prepared to pay through the nose for him to boot. That's reasonable, no? It's also reasonable to be disappointed that Brighton a such a greedy bunch of khaaaants, as previously stated.

I'd understand if White goes to Liverpool - Klopp is a phenomenal manager, like Bielsa - but Lampard at Chelsea? Will never be in the same league. Potter? Who's he?

He's rejected two improved contracts at Brighton already. What does that suggest?

Accepting 30 million for a young player with no PL experience is not exactly bending over and getting shafted, is it?

Admit it, they're greedy khaaants - that is exactly what is wrong with the business of football today.

I hope Ben White has a great season, whoever he signs for. He's a great young prospect. In rejecting that third bid, though, they really are taking a big risk with his future.

They aren't being greedy. They have a valuation of their player and until that valuation is met they aren't going to entertain selling him.

It's no different to what you, or any other club, would do in the same position.

And as his employer they are perfectly within their rights to do that and why wouldn't they?

The only reason you feel sorry for the lad is that it's your club that wants to sign him.

Brighton are after the best they can get and hoping the price will put people off and he'll stay!..

I'm sure we'd do exactly the same if someone came after the likes of Phillips!..

What a player he is, by the way.
