I’m with Ferguson on his decision with Hazard. Yes he would have been brilliant for us but we shouldn’t ever cave into the demands of agents, if all clubs did that then they soundly be as powerful as they are.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Problem is that he was only in the job for another year, then the whole regime changed and Fergie’s stance became irrelevant.

Glen Hoddle in 87.

Him and Robbo in the midfield would have won us a title or two before we finally got there.

Imagine getting to see Silva and Scholes playing together

We should have got at least Robben when Ronaldo went to Madrid, maybe Sneijder too.

Ronaldinho was probably the worst one. Another £1m and he would have been ours.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Something about Peter Kenyon deliberately scuppering it because he knew he was on his way to Chelsea
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There was definitely something awry with Kenyon in his last 18 months with us
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think with some players yes but not Ronaldinho.

I think we were prepared to pay silly money (Even by our standards) for Ronaldinho so he probably just didn’t want to come to Manchester.

Agree with Robben.

I think we probably dodged a bullet with Sneijder though. His career sort of nose dived after getting lost at Carrington.

The few that got away at UTD are incomparable to the 60+ world class players that Wenger was scouting before they slipped through his fingers... including ronaldo and messi

Robben Carrick Scholes Ronaldo
Rooney Tevez

That should have been our team at one stage.

I'm pretty sure we signed Sneijder loads of times.

I have never followed transfer news.

hazard is a strange one. We all knew he was worldclass for about 3 years when he was at lille. The question was whether he was going to real/barca. Surprisingly that summer neither was in for him utd should have had a clear run.

Unfortunately, it coincided with utd trying to make a stand against agents and it cost us. While I understand the stance it definitely was not worth losing such a player especially when you consider the types of business we did subsequently.

Zinedine zidane was recommended to fergie by Eric Cantona when he was young and undiscovered. Fergi said he wouldn’t know where to play him in that current side.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

There's a story that Zidane was offered to Blackburn but Jack Walker concluded 'why would we sign him when we already have Tim Sherwood?'

Who cares if that's apocryphal, I'm choosing to believe it.

On the flipside, if we'd signed Silva, we might never have seen Tom Cleverley in action.

Darren

But tbf no one knew Ferguson was gonna leave a year later, not even Ferguson.

Raphael Varane in the summer of 2011.

Still, we got Phil Jones. So all's well that ends well...

Ronaldinho to Manchester United, but then we would not have got Cristiano Ronaldo.
