Yep. And as for all the conspiracy theorists, they can't deny that the number of deaths in the period since Covid came about is much higher than in the same period in previous years. They can come up with all the theories on forged death certificates and tests they like, there is no getting away from that undesputable fact

Sorry I may have went off on one but it really frustrates me seeing people think nothing of this.
We’re still in an unknown when it comes to understanding this virus. A friends mother in her 50s has tested positive twice. The second time around Drs found a blood clot which was causing her discomfort. They wasn’t sure if that was a reason for a second positive of the result of one. Her symptoms were the same albeit milder on the second positive. She spent just over a week in hospital and was given oxygen

I agree. It’s all a bit exaggerated imo. This virus has been circulating since October and we didn’t realise until about March.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is this actually true? As it wasn't killing people worldwide until March.
My ex in the UK caught it and ended up with a blood clot on the lung and was in bad shape for near 3 months.
The bigger issue here is what the long term effects might be to those not in the older bracket. A nurse i know has told me that there are fears it is changing peoples arteries and vessels permanently and they are worried that may be a big issue later.
What's this notion of an 'official narrative'? Governments say all sorts of things, sometimes to cover the fact that they made catastrophic errors. In our case, the government initially decided that it could control the virus in a better way than international standards recommended, decided to delay restrictions until the epidemic had spread, and probably caused tens of thousands of excess deaths, as well as prolonging the length of the lockdown and intensifying the severity of the economic damage. So be cautious of how the government frames the story. But do listen to scientists, who are gradually learning, through empirical methods, about the virus, how it behaves, how it affects us. They are learning, for instance, that a certain proportion of the young and healthy people who contract the virus without showing severe or sometimes any symptoms are exhibiting other health problems later on: blood clots, strokes. Because they are learning that Covid-19 isn't purely a respiratory infection. We've also learnt that if we leave the virus to spread unchecked, it has a devastating effect in terms of deaths, overwhelming hospitals, etc. Right now not many people are dying from it BECAUSE WE LOCKED DOWN and reduced the rate of new infections. This year we already have 60,000+ deaths above the average. These are directly and indirectly caused by Covid-19. Had we not locked down when we did (two weeks too late) the infections and deaths would have exponentially risen beyond that horrific number.
My father died of Covid-19 in April. He was old and frail but in my opinion he nevertheless mattered, and I would have liked to say goodbye to him.
except people haven't listened to the guidelines

This is true, but it only accounts for a tiny percentage of the population. Nobody has been going to sporting events, gigs, festivals, theatres etc; most offices are closed and pubs only reopened just over a month ago. The steps taken have been unprecedented so have surely had a massive impact on the potential spread of the virus and subsequent death toll.
The vast majority of people were not going to parties or packed beaches in defiance of the official restrictions. In fact, it seems the British public overall had far more respect for the rules and sense of the common good than the members of our ruling class.
how many people have been lining the streets at protests? shoulder to shoulder.
whether the total dead is higher or lower because of lockdown is not the point.
the real point for discussion is the death rate, how deadly is the disease. its in the 0.x%'s
so whether 60m or 600 get it, the death rate won't change.
I don't deny the virus exists because it does. My grandma sister and a few of the family have it as we speak.
That said...
I know for a fact that family friends father went into hospital for a complaint not linked to the virus. He was elderly and died and the option was to write covid related death as the reason and get the body back within 3 days or so no and wait 8 weeks. This I know for fact but have heard numerous similar stories
I also know that on one hand my sister couldn't visit as Manchester was in lockdown but my friends brother went to alton towers
I also know plenty of people with serious health conditions who haven't been seen to for months and may well die due to lack of operation etc
Pubs, religious places etc are having to put in place protocols to ensure social distancing inside the establishment yet people going there are ignoring it when outside or travelling to them
All this virus has shown me is that we are surrounded by selfish s.

But surely whether the number of dead is closer to 600 or 600 thousand or 6 million is the real point. The mortality rate for those infected is probably static (though it will increase if so many people get it at one time that the health service is overwhelmed), as is the number of people who will suffer from prolonged morbidities, strokes, etc later on as a result of infection - the latter still somewhat unknown.
This morning it was reported that antibody testing has estimated that 6% of the population has been infected to date. 6% = approximately 60k deaths. How many deaths do we need to accumulate before we reach an unacceptable number to the 'big fuss about flu' cult? Are we happy to go to 50% infections (which could give us a degree of herd immunity) and around half a million dead? After all, most of those people will die eventually. And some people are getting seriously bored with minor constraints in their lives.
