Sancho update

As has been said... Walking away in the current climate is not something we should be too negative about. It's a shame to miss out on him... But I think people are still in a bit of a bubble about just how serious the world economy is going to be hit once the money runs dry on furloughs and such. That's without considering a 2nd wave, further disruptions to the league/cups, no crowds etc.

I also think the form of Greenwood really softens the blow and i genuinely think he could be better than sancho in a year or two and maybe world class.

Maybe finding an alternative right sided attacker for £60m or so makes some sense.

Would also be nice if a player showed a bit of respect to the club that took a chance on him, gave him all the first team football he craved and helped mould him into the player he is.

Thankfully he seems to be that kind of kid, and not the one to throw his toys out of the pram.

Might be worth knocking on Valencia’s door for Soler if they’re having a fire sale

Also don’t think a loan for Coman or Dembele would be the worst move in the world, then gives you the freedom to reevaluate in 12 months time

You can’t buy a player if the selling club don’t want to sell and the player doesn’t want to move.

Instead of trying to read cryptic messages just take the comments for what they are.

Time to move on.

It's not happening, we should just move on.

Use the money to sign a top young CB like Upamecano (don't think he's available this summer though) and backups for the deep-lying playmaker position and RW.

Spending a club record fee on Sancho pretty much means we have to play him all the time. Sign a very good RW for half the price who can alternate games with Greenwood.

Ok so
1)TV money being clawed back for the last season
there is not matchday income for at least half the 2020/21 season, maybe longer.
2)Operational costs are up due to all the health and hygiene precautions clubs have to make.
3)Shirt sales will go down because of the economic downturn.
4)We have to find a new sponsor which inevitably is going to bring much less than expect due to the current situation
5)any player sales will generate less money because the smaller clubs are struggling even more. Also 6)United are keeping the none playing staff employed because they are trying to be nice (how long that lasts we don't know).

Given all that, you cannot fault Ed for not wanting to pay inflated prices in this climate. Dortmund cannot be demanding £100m+ in this market, prices have reajusted, and we should not be paying it. Now Dortmund don't need the money and we can't force them to sell for less. So be it. Yes we need to strengthen, but given all the above, do we really need Sancho at £120m?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dortmund can demand whatever the hell they want.

He’s their player and under contract for at least two more seasons.

It is true, rosso. We depend on him giving notice of being sold. Preferably in public, to put pressure on BVB. I do not think he does, nor do I really hope he does.

It's a shame for us, because we really needed him.

As Tiddles wrote, I respect Sancho for his respect for BVB if this leads to him not asking to be sold, that kind of respect is in short supply in today's football. And shows that he has his head in the right place.

Looking forward to the rumors continuing, also into eternity (next year) ?.

Sancho is good but personally I don't think he is worth 130m euros. If United pay that then that will be yet another proper mugging. United have been interested in Sancho since Jan 2019, yet despite that he signed a contract extension. That's not the conduct of a player who is unhappy at a club.

Crying because utd are supposedly not paying 120 million during a pandemic for a player we are supposedly interested in. And I bet all you have seen of sanco is about as much as the average utd fan #verylittle

Is there a word for this?

Many assumptions in one paragraph. Same thinking in Garner becoming a star?
