Good post.

I'd like to see us finishing much closer to the top 2 than this season.

I agree but still hard to take yesterday's loss.

I think we need to get rid of so many players too, some may disagree but:

Maguire - he's just rubbish

Lindletoff - he's worse than maguire

De Gea - honestly just needs to leave and start fresh somewhere else. Old Dave would've saved that first Sevilla goal.
Why is Dave not screaming at lindletoff and AWB for their second goal, he's the only one who can see everything...
I thought after all these years he would learn to take control of situations but he still lacks that key ability.

Pogba - not really sure what he offers that Bruno doesn't.
Gets caught on the ball in dangerous areas multiple times a game.
Holds onto the ball for wayyy too long, making him so easy to tackle and get caught in possession.
Not really the player we need IMO, I don't think our team would change for the worse if he left to be honest.

Mata - pointless having him in the team. Doesn't offer anything...
Right when you want a cool head on the pitch and he goes and passes the ball to the keeper yesterday in the dying moments. Not just last night, he's been fairly useless for years.

James needs to go out on loan or something. Absolute pony right now and won't get better at United at the moment.

Looking forward to seeing what martial can do next year. He's upped his game this season..
Yeah he fked up last night multiple times but he's still young. Many top strikers don't become consistent until their mid to late 20s.

Same with rashy and no words need to be said for greenwood.

I do feel like we need to bring in a midfielder who can take control of a game. A captain type player.
Dare I say it the only one in the prem that I can think of right now is Henderson.. he's just a player that's willing to die for his club.. always put in 110% and seems to have unlimited stamina.. we simply do not have that type of player.

Then the obvious need a couple of CBs.
An actual winger...
Another midfielder.

I can't believe Chelsea have signed Werner and ziyech. Two class players and we've yet to sign anyone and I feel we're in more need of some recruitment than they are.
I also cant believe the prices they paid... Pretty sure if it was us we would have paid double what Chelsea did.

All that is clear is Solskjaer has a blind spot for De Gea. Never seen such a disgraceful decision to drop a goalkeeper before. We lost 2 Europa League games this season to teams that had only a few shots and both times it was a different goalkeeper to Romero. I think the 2nd goal we conceded would have been a simple save for Romero. In fact it would have been a routine save for any goalkeeper but if it is on target and not straight at De Gea then 9 times out of 10 it goes in against De Gea. Heck the 3 goals we conceded against Chelsea were all straight at De Gea and he let those in or when we conceded a goal against Spurs.

I even predicted with De Gea we would concede like 2 goals from 3 shots on target as that is his norm in a lot of games. That was why our away record was so bad he rarely ever saved more than 1 shot in any away game last season.

Also I disagree the long season has caught up with us. The last 2 games were insanely one sided. Our hardest match since the Europa League restart was the 2nd leg and we were efficient to win. We should have won by 6 goals last 2 games. It was funny pundits thought Sevilla had a great midfield when they had no midfield all game. Completely overrun and relying on us missing to stay in the game.

Overall it has been a good season. We finished third despite having no creativity in midfield for half of the campaign. We need a few quality signings to continue to improve, but I am at least enjoying watching us play now. I can't see us bridging the gap with Liverpool next season, but we could possibly finish above City.

The boys in the dressing room are devastated. People will say we had a good season because we finished third in the Premier League, but do we want to finish third next season? No we don’t.”- Maguire.

Be careful what you wish for.

Positive season despite the bitter end yesterday.
However, I'm worried about our transfer business so far. We know how long it takes for Ed to conclude any deal. Yet we seem to not working on any deal at the moment apart from Sancho. Hope it will be turnaround quickly in the next two weeks now we have no football left to play.

That's true

We should probably be hoping for third and some silverware, realistically.

So you think getting 3rd in the league and out of three SF comptetiotions is good achievement despite spending over 100m every season but you were calling Liverpool bottlers when finished 2nd with 97 points just one point behind City and runners up in the CL the year before (not semi of the less prestige EL).

I'm sure Man Utd and other fans would have called Liverpool bottlers if were knocked out from the SF of the three comptetiotions.

Having said that I kind of agree with your post now but don't with previous comments on Liverpool being bottlers. Not saying you've said that specifically, but majority of your fans. It wasn't easy to compete with super rich clubs like City and Chelsea. We have done it the right way. Took time and had to sell to fund for new players. You may be in the right way.

What a load of waffle. We have made reasonable strides forward from where we were before Ole joined. That doesn't write out the mismanagement we have witnessed for the last 7 years. Stop putting words in people's mouths and you might manage to have a reasoned debate.

The lack of ambition of some of our fans is baffling.

There is a difference between lacking ambition and being realistic. A squad that has been mismanaged for 7 years is going to take some rebuilding. Especially when it is made up of players from 4 different managers.

7/10 for me which is good. There are still quite a few issues and I’m still not convinced with Ole but he’s doing a good job and deserves to stay with the backing of the board.

Yesterday was disappointing but we’ve still got CL football which was always the priority and the football at times has been good with some impressive performances against better sides.

The main problem as has always been for the past 7 years is Ed and the Glazers.
