Transfer news and rumours

Doubt we could afford Ramsey's wages anyway.

I have heard that Juventus are planning a bid of £50 million plus Rugani. Rugani is the centre back we were linked with last summer.

I think that would be a good deal to be honest if we have a couple for forwards lined up. We get a centre back (which is a position we needed to strengthen) and then add £50 million to our transfer budget.

Still quite a good player Ramsey, but I'd want about 6 Ramseys plus about £25m for a Jiminez.

Loads of talk of the Juventus interest but hard to know if it is genuine or not. I really don't see any club valuing Jimenez in the 80 million bracket to be honest. Rugani was another linked in a swap plus money deal.

Suspect there may be more truth in some of the Braga links with Paulinho or Palhinha.

Badiashile may be one rumour from the past to come back into play.

James Rodriguez one of the more fanciful ones.

Jordao linked to a loan move to familicao.

I suspect that Jimmy and/or Adama will go.
With the funds generated I hope Nuno will be able to find suitable replacements and we will move forward.
This is not necessarily my wish just what I feel could happen.

Personally I think Jimenez is virtually irreplaceable It's not just his ability to score goals but his hold up play, the way he links up with other forwards and the assists that he provides. He knows his team mates so well now it would take a full season for another striker to become more effective than Jimi.
Hang on to him I say and get another striker in to give him a rest now and then.

given the choice i would move on Traore before Jimenez

I could not agree more with Gem

Agree with that Gem, he suits our system perfectly and finding a direct replacement would be very difficult.

Traore is unique but yes I would prefer to keep Raul

I agree with you gents, just a gut feeling that they will let one or both go.
As I said I would prefer to keep them both.

Not a clue who this guy is, who he plays for, his nationality or even what position he plays. I have to ask my son these days, who has an encyclopedic knowledge of the world's footballers and their fifa ratings.

I am the same. Someone on the live thread mentioned Lautero Martinez the other day, i asked who he was, unfortunately i asked this only ten minutes after he had scored in the game i was watching

As for Ghoulam, he is an Algerian at Napoli, a left back but he has spent a lot of time injured the last three seasons.

No player is irreplaceable. Sometimes a team needs to move a top player on as that player gets a better opportunity and it enables them to invest in the rest of the side. Even the top clubs do it. I'm sure Liverpool fans thought Suarez and Sterling were irreplaceable.

The fact is, Jimenez is 29. He might only have a few more years playing at the top level. He might want the move. Wolves are never going to get more for him than they will in this transfer window. If they have players lined up, the move makes sense no matter how hard it is for the fans.

Not to mention Coutinho. It goes the other way too but take your point Tam. It's not a bad position to be in, he stays we get goals, he moves we get a windfall. The latter is the riskier scenario as you never quite know whether a player will fit in, as we well know from last year's transfer dealings.

I just can’t see Traore moving on this summer. We would want a massive fee for him and what club would pay a large amount for a player who is likely to miss 3 months of next season for a shoulder operation.

Jimenez is more likely to leave as he is 29 and this may be his last chance for a big pay day. No matter how much money we got for him I don’t think we would be able to replace him with as good a like for like all round centre forward. Only benefit of selling him would be if we then bought in 4 or 5 good players at £15m to £20m and it gave us a better all round squad. But all the signs remain that Raul isn’t fighting to leave

Is Traore even having surgery?

We asked for two extra days to start the season and surprisingly have been given it so our first game will be the 14th on a Monday night. Chelsea also given the same two day extension but as yet it is unclear though you would assume likely we will play Chelsea on opening day.

Excellent thread Wolfie

Really important that we keep our front three and add to it in my knowledgeable opinion, Jota, Jimenez, Adama must all stay if we are to progress. With Pod and Neto we have a strong attacking 5

Fixtures are out btw

May day massacre at the Whorethorns, love it.

Molineux May day massacre would have had a better ring to it but it'll get shifted for telly or pandemic anyway.

Other than that not a bad first run of fixtures. Just cant wait to get back in the ground.

Not a bad start for us, must stand a chance against Sheffield

Albion are the last team we meet. Even the first game is not until 2021. Hopefully by then full crowds might be back
