I say well done and good luck to them. All left United at the right time for us, other than possibly Herrera, but I wouldn't say we've massively missed him either.

Lukaku, Herrera and Di maria would be quality members of our squad.

You could possibly argue the first two, but Di Maria only had a few decent games when he was here. Fair enough, Van Gaal played him in some weird positions, but I don't think he ever particularly wanted to play for United and he's where he wanted to be.

You could argue that we are going to win both the CL and EL this season because it is mostly our players. First team to do the European double in the same season.

Depay potentially could make the final and he’d start for Utd now

Lukaku and Di Maria didnt want to be at the club so no point crying about them not being here

I think Herrera would gladly still be here if a contract had been put to him before PSG came sniffing.

It’s worth remembering what Ole is trying to achieve and build, wrt mentality and attitude.

Lukaku didn’t want to stay.
Di Maria never wanted to be at OT.
Herrera was fed up of not being offered a decent contract early enough.

Quality wise, Lukaku didn’t look good enough, Sanchez was shocking and Young’s best days were behind him.

So really we’ve not missed them that much. Good luck to them

The only one who's good enough to improve our first 11 is Di Maria, who is absolutely fantastic and always has been. Sadly, it just didn't work out for him here, largely due to the fact that he never wanted to be here. Again, the right decision to let him go.

Young and Lukaku would certainly be useful given the current squad and would undoubtedly see a lot of minutes, but I imagine that will (should) be addressed in this window.

I loved Herrera, but for his heart as opposed to quality. It seems in Bruno, Fred, McT, we have that same energy and desire, so I'm not overly bothered he's gone

But Herrera has much, much more quality on the ball and technically than McTominay and is better tactically and positionally than Fred. He's also a better passer of the ball than both of them. He's just a better player overall than both.

Given that we are yet to go out and sign a better midfielder than Herrera (in terms of his role and position - so excluding Bruno), he maybe more than any of those listed would have been my pick for the 'keep' list.

We'd also not be so reliant on Matic as the deep midfielder next to Pogba given that Herrera was player of the year for us in that deeper role.

Just highlights how many players United churn through hoping for the right signing

Herrera is the only one of those that would get into this United team based on their time here.

These players are doing well because of the respective managers getting the best out of them and surrounded by better quality players helps too !!

tbf between bruno (pen) and VAR we've made two cracking signings this year, and will be happy to stick with that combo for many seasons.
