The window shuts in October so no-one is rushing. Also every league has very different start times so I am sure that also slows things down. Some of the big spenders are still in the 19/20 season.

If most team have a decent size squad capable of playing in their respective league I understand why the board might be reluctant to spend given the situation.

However, as for Leeds and our current circumstances, we are at the very LEAST 3 players short. Based on current squad (on paper) I make us amongst the favourites to go down. I’m a lot more worried than the general Leeds fans base that I know.

Would you rather get the first 3 players available, or the best 3 you can get? That is the balance that will be key.
I agree it is important to have a settled squad before kick off, and for a newly promoted club it is important to get the first points and first win as early as possible.
But you don't want to be stuck with crap signings because you were in a rush.

Am worried too mate.

Alot i hear from seem to think staying up aint a problem.

At this moment if you gave us 17th i would bite your hand off.

Also agents and clubs will be holding out for the best offers they can get. Why agree to the 1st 2nd or 3rd offer that comes along when there are still weeks to go in transfer window.

Any club minded to sell a player will be waiting waiting waiting for better and better offers. If they don't come they can take the best offer on the table close to the end of the transfer window.

As far as I am aware WBA and Fulham are not faring any better than Leeds in their recruitment efforts.

I don't believe it's through lack of effort by the club's recruiters it's just a very tough market at this stage in the window.

A lot of those being so anxious didn't back us for promotion at the start of last season either. I think I remember the phrase "we won't do anything if we don't sign X number of quality players" being thrown around a lot.

I will even more so when we are back in the stadium whenever that is.

How leeds would it be for us not to get back in stadium at all this season and get relegated and not even been able to get to see one prem game?

I hope the people doing the talking ain't as worried as people here and there seem to be, bloody hell, we had all this last season but came through!..

It was mentioned when the season restarted that buying and selling wouldn't be the same when things return to normal,(or as normal as things can!)money is being lost all over the place and clubs trying to get that bit extra are talking to clubs that are trying to save!..

There won't be as many big time deals as there usually is, and that could be a reason why deals are taking so long, because of the money wanted and the money that isn't there!..

You are right it’s similar to last seasons moans... but I wasnt one that was moaning last season.. but just feel it’s imperative we have a signing or two before kick off. I know orta and board working their socks off but we have a tough start.....

In bielsa first season I was very worried with the idea of roofe as a lone striker and couldn't fathom how it would work. Last year I was convinced that losing pontus and roofe would stuff us and our squad was weaker. Not going to lie I'm worried this year about striker, some sort of option for when pablo isnt available and the glaring hole Ben white leaves but you have to trust bielsa. If he us happy. I am.

I'm one of those that takes my club to heart, I'm as happy as any when things go the way I,(we!)think they should, feelings are an emotion and everybody has them, but my feelings are Leeds have to do the best they can, but, if things don't work out I'm not going to bang my head against a wall!..

All I've said is I hope the people working,(which I think they'll be hard at!)in the background ain't as worried/nervous as people on these boards are, they have emotions as well, but I'll be for thinking players needed unless out of our price line will be chased!..

If you're wrong about something then you should own up to that. I've been wrong about plenty, and expect people to tell me when it's the case.

By all means, be nervous, but if you're going to make hills to die on then don't be surprised when people kill you on them.

Obviously i am prepared to die on my hill for this crime.

My reasons for doubting us getting promoted is because i am a glass half empty kind of person and also after what happened the season before.

Just the way i am.

I am sure this thread will give certain people a massive erection to see somebody die on there hill for daring to doubt our amazing manager and players.

Even though i have invested thousands in my season tickets and merchandise over the last 35 years that doesnt give me the right to publicise the way i might feel regarding how the season might turn out.

Just for the record we will pi55 it this season.

Anything less than Europa league qualification then we will have under achieved massively.

We dont need a striker. Bamford for the golden boot.

Thats me done.

Been a pleasure with vast majority of you.

They hyperbole is a weak retort to other people providing their opinions, something you clearly feel should be enshrined and sanctified, so please accept that I have my own when mine disagree with yours. The over-the-top melodrama does nothing to make me think that I should hold anything you say with much weight at all.

As I already said, by all means have your negative opinions. Try to enjoy what you do see, and not focus on the bad everytime. The last 16 years has been full of people like you moaning, so don't be surprised when the opposite happens when success is achieved. There's no point scoring from me. If I wished I could filter everyone who disagrees with me, as some on your side of the bridge choose to do, but I actually enjoy sharing views.
