The difference being that Adnan burst onto the scene and had a short term impact, before fading away. McT has grown into his role within the squad over 4 seasons and steadily improved. I don't really seen any correlation between the two to be honest.

going to take a wild guess that he didn't put an awful lot of thought into the analogy. and he seems to be confusing januzaj with Ibe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I remember Liverpool fans on here going on about how much better Ibe is. At least the club not only managed to fool them but also Bournemouth.

The DM role requires a bit of experience. You can see Matic and Fred do it well, even though the latter is supposed to be a B2B. McTominay doesn't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which is why I said he would have to adapt his game. Matic is a great player to learn from. And Carrick should also be helping him with it.

You won't find any comments from me saying that. Anybody who did was obviously a WUM, unlike the United fans who believed Januzaj was better than Sterling to the extent it had quite a few sources online making comparisons.

As I recall, stats wise Adnan was (albeit for a brief period) competing with Sterling in terms of their performances when breaking into the first team.
And some fans on here definitely said that Ibe was going to be better than Sterling when he left for City. But we can all get carried away when a kid is coming through the ranks.
Either way, I think that McT has done a lot more than either Adnan or Ibe in terms of establishing himself as a first team player over a number of seasons.
