Wrong Thiago
Rich man's David Luiz is an interesting way of describing him ... serious version.
Was one of those players you knew had 'it' even as a young man at Milan, should've brought him in 2012 but the allure of Ancelotti, Leonardo, Ibra, etc... probably would've been too much anyway. Still better late than never
I'm not convinced he actually addresses the core problem with our defense, we have good CB's who need someone to lead on the pitch (not the training ground), and at his age it's an unknown whether he'll be able to hack 30+ games in the league. But ultimately I'm not gunna whine about having Thiago Silva at my club, nor did I when we signed Eto'o - class is class at the end of the day, savor it while it's here

He might find the Prem at 35, a bit more of a challenge than the annual waltz to the Ligue 1 title with PSG.
Chelsea lacked that leadership experience in their back line. He’s been brought in for his wealth of experience.

Was sure I'd seen it somewhere but now think I imagined it!
As someone who was quite sceptical of this transfer only due to his Silva's age I've been won over watching him in the CL Final and that physically he looks great and could easily pass for someone in their 20's. Looks like he has quite a bit left in the tank, hopefully he can quickly adjust to the speed of the PL. Then again he's trained again Neymar and Mbappe every day so he's certainly used to quick strikers.

I was sceptical when we were first linked but, in a completely non-logical way I’m excited to see him sign for us. Although he’s old he still makes quite a lot of sense (vs anyone else we could get on the market) for a one year stop gap, and then target a long-term talisman CB next summer
