I’d love to know how many of us would’ve been so optimistic if before lockdown we’d have been told that our signings would be a Southampton CM, Wolves FB and Burnley’s 2/3 choice GK.
Spurs will be hard to beat next season. Some interesting additions, physical, mobile and aggressive players, adding steel to the team, and with Kane, Son, Alli and Lucas upfront they’ll be a top counter attacking team in the epl.
Jose asking his forwards line to be more aggressive in their pressing the opposition, and will hoping that they’ll be clinical in front of goal.
I would be surprised, if we don’t see an improvement from last season.
I think we're starting the season from a low base. We just about finished 6th last season after consecutive top 4 finishes. My current optimism is based on the fact that I now feel that we're not going to get worse! There was a real fear that we were in a downward spiral towards the end of last season.
I also think that it is time that we try to be a bit more creative in the domestic market. We've tried the "carlos kick-a-balls" approach over the last few years and it just hasn't really worked. I'm not saying that we shouldn't sign a player from overseas, but I am saying that one of the reasons PEH and Doherty signings don't seem exotic, is because they were signed from lower teams in the PL, but they could really turn out to be good signings for us.

Jose has definitely been brought here to get CL not win a trophy, we all know how levy operates.
So it will be very interesting how Jose treats the cups knowing that if we won the league and came 6th he'd probably be sacked.

He should be kept on if we win the league.
The moaning about finishing 6th makes people sound so childish and entitled. I'm glad we made it to the Europa and I believe that now the winner gets a cl place its a much better competition than it was last time we qualified for it.
Last time I looked there were over 100 professional clubs in the 5 top leagues and we've finished as the 6th best.
Are things really that bad?
It was also interesting to see Jose's team talks with the emphasis on strong mentality and telling the team to "play, play" and "be confident".

I know they are only pre season games but Dele, Sonny, Moura & Stevie have all looked very bright so far and PEH has been excellent.
I think part of the reason that expectations are a bit subdued is that we got such little return from the 100+mln we spend last summer. Hopefully these new "low key" but tactically astute signings... PEH & Doherty in particular can bring the best out of others.... That's my hope anyway.
One of these guys.... Dele, GLC or NDombele is gonna have to step up and replace Eriksen..... If not, then it will be time to to take a financial hit and move on..... Can't keep talking about "talent" while winning nothing

I think it is safe to say you can forget Ndombele. Such a shame because having watched him when he did make an appearence, he does have talent but his lack of workrate is a huge problem and you have to back Jose's decision. On the the plus side when he gets sold hopefully we can more quality.

Ndombele won’t be at Spurs next season that’s for sure. Get all we can for him and spend on another creative midfielder, but someone who’s top quality. If we can try and get Grealish, he would suit this spurs team perfectly, but somehow Levy and his f*** around antics have cost us that player. That ship has probably well and truly sailed. Another Levy mistake.
