Hooper for me is a good example of a guy who should never have left Celtic, our football suited his penalty box style, great finisher, but he's rarely gonna make goals out of nothing.
For me he was never gonna flourish in a team that wasn't creating a lot of chances, same with a guy like Griff, Celtic is his peak, whereas its very clear that guys like Dembele, KT, VVD, Wanyama and Eddy were/are all very capable of doing it at a much higher level, I would add McGregor to that list, for me he do a very good job at a mid table EPL.
Sjb, cannae disgree?
Might be the peeve or vids but thinking about that yeh do make sense? It was obvs the the 3-0 game at CP that made me love him so much?
I fcking HOPE Cal Mac stays but feel he might go after next season, if he's got 10iar in his pocket then aye, Fair enough
When he played for Scunthope, after a desperate January weather wise and finally making the game flying over from Ireland they with him scoring twice beat us 1-4, never have I gone away from a game more ashamed.
It was only afterwards that I realised we'd come up against a real good striker but still we were dire.
Great player in his own right for us but also made Stokes look very good too for a time
He was brilliant at Wednesday. His finishing was very good and he rarely missed when one on one. His injury record wasn't good though. Igor.... I think he played up front at Scunthorpe with Billy Sharp and they both scored a lot of goals.
First OF game I went to so should remember it well but I was two days into a sesh ๐
What I do mind is no getting into the game on time.. must've been ten mins played before we got it as our turnstile was fvcked and it was so poorly organised.
Just got to my seat and sat down when Hooper skinned Weir and scored the first, straight back up celebrating ๐
Was that the game where he utterly destroyed Davie Weir? His second goal that game came from abou the halfway line, didn’t it? It was beautiful.

Yes his second goal came from an Izzy cross and Hooper ran through the middle and stretched out his foot to score a peach of a goal. ๐๐๐
Very early days for Ajeti, but there are already clear signs he might be a Hooper type of finisher. Time will tell.
I saw Gary playing for Wellington against Perth Glory just before lockdown in Perth, February I think it was.
He scored two good goals out of nothing, and reminded me of how I hated him playing against Rangers! Amazing how you can go to the other side of the world and watch a game of football and still these ex Celtic players pop up and make your evening a misery lol.
Was actually good to see him do well to be honest. Good luck to him. I think he is Wellington's top goal scorer and he got them finishing in the play offs in this league over here.
Don't bring him back to Celtic park, he is still quite good by the look of things.
Keep Christie up front please ๐
Hooper was a great player for us. Always think too was a combo deal his time of being successful for us coincided with Stokes best period with us also.
Hoopers record with Stokes playing and when not is chalk and cheese.
Smashing footballer.
His strength was incredible but his finishing ability was top class.
Unfortunately injuries took its toll.
must have been after he left us dont recall him having many injury probs while at parkhead
Blessed to be in WA at present life is basically normal despite covid due to good governance
Yes, we are very lucky here. The premier here has done an amazing job! He closed the borders not just internationally, but also inter state!
Borders have been shut since March, making West Australia an island effectively, completely isolated. There has been zero spread of Covid in the community for months, schools went back in May , and no one wears masks. Literally no restrictions.
The drawback is we need permission to leave the state , which would be rejected under most circumstances. If allowed out , we wouldn't get back in. But it's a price worth paying. If I am going to be stuck somewhere, this is not a bad place to be stuck in to be fair.
Hopefully the world is through the worst of this virus. 6 more months and I would say it will have been through most of the population in Europe and America. Herd imunity. There should be a vaccine too. What a crazy year it's been!!

Sure has mate. Fingers crossed ๐ค that you view of the next 6 months comes true ๐
By the way on a different note, what about djokovic getting disqualified from US Open!
So unfortunate to hit the lady right on the throat with the ball. He couldn't have done that if he tried!
The rules are the rules, but I think a warning in a case like that would have been more appropriate.
Not saying the disqualification was not the correct action. The tournament referee followed the letter of the rules. But djokovic did not even hit the ball that hard, he just was not looking where he was hitting it. I think changing the rules to have a warning the first time, then disqualification the 2nd time, would save having disqualification for accidental hitting officials with the ball.
Just my thoughts on it.

Permission to leave the state
Given its about 33 x the size of Scotland you should be ok.
Weathers not as good though 16 degrees here today
I've still got loads of mates in Perth, said it's practically back to normal now.
That's what happens when you have a competent government.
