I watched a documentary on Netflix called "Terms and Conditions May Apply"... The rules about online data collection that were pushed through just 7 days after 9/11 changed the world more than any of the wars that followed.

That law was clearly prepared long before 9/11 and they must have been sat on it waiting for something to happen. I'm not tinfoil enough to think the USA did it to themselves, but I do wonder if they allowed it the intel to be ignored, thinking it wasn't going to be anywhere close to as big as it was.

The complete lack of debris from the pentagon, the footage from the gas station that was confiscated and we've never seen despite it providing the best angle which could prove conclusively that it was a plane.

Why haven't we seen it?

I was in an English lesson when a teacher from another class ran into our class and disturbed us during an Of Mice and Men reading session.... damn teacher.
Anyway she burst in and whispered something in the teachers ear and they both walked out so the whole class just starting talking and being noisy. The teacher came back in and goes QUIET! (like Johnny on Cobra Kai) and then he informed us and put the TV on.

We sat there and watched the news for the rest of the lesson.
I was only 13 at the time so wasn't really taking it in that much to be honest. My mates and I were just like WOAH but didn't really think properly about the lives lost and how horrifying it must have been for the passengers aboard the planes and the people at the top of the tower, hanging out the windows about to jump out.

You only really start to think/care about that stuff when you get a lil bit older and damn it is shocking, thinking back on it.... A bit of turbulence on a plane scares me, imagine the horror of those people looking out the window of the planes, fk me.

I feel sorry for the innocent people that died... and like another poster said, many innocent people in Iraq, Afghanistan.... Syria etc have died. Have to feel sorry for them too.

The west have to be responsible for creating terrorists.. I mean if some blokes from Iraq blew up your entire family, your town, your house etc, what would you do?

Not saying its right, but there are many responsible parties for the state of the world today... East and West.

Not that they planned it, but they had the intel and chose to ignore it.

That’s pretty much a fact, the question is if they did that deliberately or not.

My thinking is that they had a certain amount of intel, but never thought that it would be anything like 9/11.

Perhaps more like a 6 seater plane hitting the towers or something, or maybe thinking a plane would be hijacked and blown up... just enough to cause the right levels of outrage and perceived threat to pass crazy laws and start wars.

I doubt even the terrorist really thought that they would be quite so successful.

Letting something happen isn't the same as planting thermite. Obviously the steel doesn't have to fully melt to become an issue. All it takes is for the integrity of the beams to be compromised.
