Do you lot just sit waiting for a United post to go live so that you can be plebs?
So we have one left back who can defend and one who can attack. That's what is called balance.

Yes mate.
Have to be honest, I find it a strange signing given the current state of our squad.
But I suppose if a player you fancy comes up as available then you may as well act.

Seems like a pretty decent fee Winston. And the rumour is that Ole is looking to switch Williams to the right this season. So that would make sense.
Apparently Ronaldo had the same in his United contract with Sporting having first refusal too.

What a pointless clause that was.

After right wing, fullback is one of the weakest positions in our squad attacking wise. City and Liverpool have been revolutionised by the attacking quality of their fullbacks the last few years.
Finally looks like we’ve a plan. Under LVG and Mourinho it felt like we were just signing random players.
City’s fullbacks aren’t that good going forward. Walker’s decent, but the rest haven’t had that much of an impact. City’s fullbacks are more important to their build up play than their attacking quality. Liverpool’s fullbacks are far better and more important in attack.
Daz
Wishful thinking to have this guy signed in time for the Palace match and maybe put on the bench?
Luke Shaw looks like as fit as a butcher's dog at the moment.
dont understand the clamor for full backs who can attack all the time.
from what ive seen he doesnt look great defensively, and add to the fact we have a cb who has the turning circle and pace of a truck, (along with a DM who is the same) and one who is weak as feck, id say we probably need a more defensive minded fullback

I don't agree - holding midfield and centre half for me are bigger concerns.
We also don't play through our full backs like Liverpool do.
Perhaps that's because we don't have good enough ones but we signed a right back for £50 million, so if that was Ole's plan I would have expected to see it by now.

totally agree here.
Lindelof isnt good enough, and until we buy a cb who is, our fb's need to be more defensive otherwise we will ger ripped to shreds.
how many times last season did we see the likes of shaw and AWB covering for our cb's

And long may it last but he’s very undervalued and we lack balance when we have to play a right footer there.

Nearly every top, elite club in Europe for the last 6-7 years+ tend to have full backs that have quality and dynamism going forward.
