Because they have a buy back clause
Apparently Reguilion will be 30m euros including add ons, with a buy back and pre emption clause for 45m euros included in the deal
Makes complete sense to me. If he is good, it gives Spurs 2 years to scout for another LB. in the meanwhile we have a top spanish international.
Exactly and who knows, maybe Reguilón will enjoy it and settle so much here, he might not want to leave. Nobody knows what will go on in the future. Not to mention Madrid’s left back Mendy only being 25!m, so he’s hardly an old player himself.
