Levy Redeemed?

all the pressure now on the manager should he not deliver either a trophy or CL football for us next season.

(assuming we get through the door the above)

To be fair to levy, last summer he spent big and if he does these deals plus a striker he would have delivered exactly what the manager wanted.

However, replacing Poch with Jose is a mistake which will be much harder to rectify.

If these deals go through, it will probably mean a top player is leaving to pay for it all, if not this summer then next, it`s how Levy operates, you know it and I know it. Levy spending next summers Kane money a year early.

Yeah, if the above all come in then it's been an exceptional window and Levy has done very well indeed.

Absolutely no excuse for Mourinho if he doesn't get a tune out of the team after being backed this well.

central defence and central midfield will still be too weak to ask for too much but absolutely no reason why we cannot achieve something with the squad with these additions

What I don't think can be questioned is that he's backed the manager if this all comes through

It turns on Bale really. First does it happen or not, second what his form is like on return, and third does he fit in. Neat idea buying 'a striker', but hard to find a decent one. Also seems to hinge on Alli going to Madrid.

When you look at James and Bale makes you wonder why anyone goes to Madrid. Though I suppose £500k a week helps.

And now I have.

I have to agree that if it all comes to pass then he gets a free pass this year on the transfer front - backup keeper and striker, LB, RB, DM, and a big name signing are all way above expectation.

Whether Jose can do something with them all remains to be seen. Having watched the doc it's hard to see where he has made real progress - maybe this last cluster of signings helps us

Bale is a massive risk for me although I can see why you are doing it.

His injury record is terrible and again for me with the interviews and body language he just seems happy doing fack all.

However he could come back and rip it up, we're see

Do you think those players the OP has listed, even if you get all of them, is enough to for you guys to push on to top 4?

posted on 16/9/20

If those proposed signings happen, Spurs will win the league.

it certainly gives us a chance, whereas before we didnt have a chance.

theres pressure on Jose now to deliver either top 4 or a trophy this season now, with this backing assuming the deals go ahead.

we are still too weak in central midfield and centre defence to expect too much.

Yeah I think we're all a bit wary of it as well - world class player when he's on it though, could be the x-factor we need.

Also if you read between the lines I would say that he is probably looking for a club who want him and where he feels comfortable. As much as doing nothing for a fortune sounds like fun I can imagine it's been anything but for him.

That's what i was thinking, you basically may get a new LB, 2020 Bale and new back up striker. But your midfield, which was badly outplayed by Everton on the weekend, is still the same and imo, that needs the biggest improvement, because it will face tougher tests than Everton throughout the season.

Best thing about getting Bale in is to lift the rest of the squad who themselves look like they cant be arrrsed either and look flat

fans needed a pick me up and our players need a boot up their arris'

If the above do join and Jose has a week season then he needs to be fired.

Bale hasnt really started before lockdown. I dont think he would be match fit for a while and his injury record is terrible. Whatever amount of wages we pay, I rather they save that for a spare striker.

The quickest and easiest way to improve the midfield would be to change the manager

If these signings get dragged out and we've had a few games into the new season before they arrive then I still wouldn't be totally happy with Levy, but yes the spotlight would mainly then fall on Mourinho. He wouldn't have any excuses if we performed poorly.
