And could be more business between the two clubs with #LFC interested in Wolves forward Diogo Jota. Lively few days.

In my opinion Jota is still easily our 2nd best attacker, why would we sell him, unless we're offered about £35m?

Apparently we have accepted a bid of £35 million.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have targeted another addition in Wolves forward Diogo Jota, who was a surprise omission from his side's Carabao Cup defeat by Stoke on Thursday.

After the game, Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo repeatedly refused to state the reason for the Portuguese's absence.

Now it has emerged the 23-year-old former Porto and Atletico Madrid player is being targeted by Klopp's side in a deal that could be worth up to £35m.

Jota joined Wolves on loan in their 2017-18 Championship-winning campaign, making a £12.8m permanent switch in 2018. He has made 131 appearances, scoring 44 goals, including hat-tricks in last season's Europa League victories against Besiktas and Espanyol.

Any deal, which would represent a record transfer sale for Wolves, is likely to see full-back Ki-Jana Hoever move the other way.

The 18-year-old Dutchman can play either as a full-back or in central defence and fits Wolves' recent quest to bring in younger players they can develop.

I would be sad to see Jota go, but he does blow very hot and cold at times and we are well stocked at that position. Neto and Podence have both been better of late and Adama offers something different. We have Jimenez and Silva for forward positions too.

I just hope we reinvest the money to improve the other areas of the team.

With Traore, Podence, Jimenez, Neto and Silva, we do have an abundance of forwards, especially as we sometimes have only 2 up front.

To get that kind of money, or maybe less plus a right sided defender makes sense to me.

Let's face it, Jota has been out of sorts for a while now and I was surprised to see him start for Portugal recently.

Tam, we seem to be like two ships passing in the night. Glad we kind of agree about Jota.

Some reports linking Wolves with the Barcelona right wing back Samedo. Seen him play for them on the box recently and he would be a fantastic signing

Semedo was diabolical in the CL play offs this summer, torn to absolute shreds by Bayern

Fee I’ve seen quoted for Jota is over £40m. Hope that’s get reinvested if we sell. We do have others for that position particularly as the two new players looked so promising on Thursday so probably makes sense to cash in. But I do believe Jota is potentially a top player

Really expected Jota to have a big season last season but for whatever reason he never really got going and only showed glimpses of what he can do.

Not sure a move to Liverpool will be the best for him as i don't think he is quite that level to be honest and suspect he will spend a lot of time on the bench and given he seems a confidence player he may not enjoy it much.

He is basically up against either Mane or Salah for a starting spot you would assume and with all due respect he isn't on their level.

Key to getting the deal done was Wolves’ willingness to be flexible on payment terms. They have accepted less than 10% of the guaranteed figure in the next 12 months. Most of that offset by initial payment from Wolves for Hoever. #LFC

Also saying Hoever chose us over Juventus and Atletico.

Much as I love and will always have cherished memories of our brave little terriers fact is that he's not a top 6 class forward and is worth barely half of the £ 45 mill Klopp is paying.
I'm pretty sure Liverpool are joining Leeds and Fulham in overpaying for a player that they will never get as much out of as Nuno has

I agree, i think for his output last season 45 million is a crazy amount. I wish him well though and hope he does great with them, no hard feelings at all.

Loved having Diogo with us. Sure we didn't see the best of him, but £40m+ is too much to turn down.

I think we may have to get used to this sort of player trading. Even the very best sides cash in when they think the time is right. The secret is re-investing the money wisely. I think Nuno is up to that.

Got to admit 3 weeks ago I never expected to lose Doc and Jota. Hope this works out, still time to sign more players.

Lost in the wash today the under 23s drew 2-2 with Leeds with Corbeanu and Cundle scoring the goals.

Have to say i really hope the Semedo rumours are false for the fee. Barca fans delighted he is on the way out.

124 games for Barcelona, one of the most attack minded sides in world football and he scored twice and had eleven assists

As if Wolves fans are moaning about potentially signing Barcelona's starting right back.

Liverpool like most top sides like depth to their squad and Jota will give them that. He's got more years ahead of him than Shakiri too. Sad to see him go but the deal's a good one and we have cover in his position. Plus he leaves some wonderful memories with us. We may even have seen the best of him.

Jota is a great signing for Liverpool giving them cover and competition for their front 3. I’m sure he will prove to be a good addition. But with Silva, Traore, Podence and Neto he was a player we could afford to lose. Just hope the move doesn’t turn the heads of other players

Need to use the money to bring in a top right wing back. Samedo would be a great signing but maybe Jorge will sort out someone not even mentioned in the rumour mill

Stunning amount of money for Jota. I wish him well.

The downside of letting Jota go is that apart from Jimenez he was our most likely player to score. He got 16 in all competitions last season and that’s more than most of our squad other than Raul put together. We need to get more players into the opposition area and score more and not sure who will step up to the plate to compensate for Jota at the moment

posted on 19/9/20

Haven't we recently sold our second and third highest scorers?

posted on 19/9/20

Sad to see Jota go, he’s a much better player than we saw last season. I’m concerned that we seem to be selling before we buy a replacement - I know we’ve bought Silva in but that transfer (and others) seem to be more about potential than for this season and I feel we are a little bit weaker at the moment than last season, albeit with greater squad depth.

Then again, we may have somebody coming in (someone I’ve never heard of no doubt!). Hoping for an attack minded centre mid who will drive us forward when we come up against packed midfields

posted on 19/9/20

According to Timothy Spiers, Nuno wants to play a different style this season, and Jota doesn't suit that style.

posted on 19/9/20

I thought Jota always looked better playing closer to Raul than as a wide man in a 433. But if he is the only player going into the opponents area next season we could do with Raul scoring about 60
