Get Ozil back in the team

There is no risk to give him a chance against Lesta on Wednesday. It gives other player a breather. Just let him work for his money.
---------------------------------
So tell him to whack some old jeans on and he can be footy's most expensive stand sweeper for a season. That's "Work"

Because as he has demonstrated a good hundred times now, we sure as hell won't get any "work" out of him by sticking him on the pitch! That's why we're in this predicament in the first place. Spent at least three years too long flogging a dead horse trying to get work out of him. Did you forget that or are you just blatantly lying to yourself pretending it didn't happen?

Ahh Ozil. He is an enigma. I dont think he is washed up as many think. But there could be an attitude problem that we can only speculate about as we are not there at training. From a footballing perspective, he is/was one of the best number 10s around with superb vision and execution of passes. However...he is a passenger who needs VERY specific circumstances to flourish. Ozil will play as well as the team is playing...if we are crap, he will be crap. If we are on fire, he will look amazing. The issue we have us are we even capable of accommodating him in the team? We are already forced to play a back 3 because we don't have the personnel for a back 4. Ozil NEEDS a solid CM pairing at the base and runners in front of him in order to flourish. Ronaldo, Di Maria and Benzema...all like to run beyond the defense regularly. The ONLY player we have who does that at Arsenal is Aubameyang. This already has us at a disadvantage even if you played say Elneny and Ceballos behind Ozil. I think on paper, a team of Auba, Laca, Pepe, Ozil, Torreira, Ceballos ( when all are on song) is one that could be devastating if they play to Ozils strengths. But i don't think we are capable (sadly) of doing that. It would have been great to see these 6 all on song on the pitch.

But I doubt we will ever see it.

Pepe Eddie Saka

No room for Ozil

Ozil can't get in to this team? Willock lol

Would much rather have Willock out there than Ozil. Scratch that - I'd rather play with 10, we pretty much are with him on the pitch anyway.

He’s not gonna get in ahead of Pepe, Eddie or Saka (or Nelson for that matter) is he? So the only way to fit him in is change the formation. And of course once again that means we have to change what has brought us recent success just to fit him into the team.

I’ll put any money on it that Ozil will never play for Arsenal again. People need to get over it

No because he refuses to defend and is lazy in a work rate sense.

Arteta wants only players whom will give 100% effort in offensive AND DEFENSIVE duties. That is the first and foremost prerequisite to being allowed to play.

Since Ozil won't even give 100% effort in attack, let alone attack and defence. He cannot play. It's that feckin simple Castor. His potential offensive abilities or his being exceptionally talented DO NOT GET TO BE CONSIDERED IN THE DECISION.

It's his failure to comply with the first rule of Arteta's team which makes EVEERYTHING ELSE irrelevant. Willock and Nelson all the way. Yes they're likely to cost us a few chances upfront but guess what? THEY won't be letting any opposition players waltz past them unchallenged nor be too lazy to press the ball. So they won't cost the bag of goals Ozil always has.

1 goal 2 assists from Ozil last season. Elneny would get more than that ffs

Ozil was by far Arsenal's most creative player last season.

The biggest load of s|-\it I've ever seen written on this site and that's saying something with the likes of Ubaby and WhingeBaby2 on here.

Absolutely beyond belief that anybody could want Ozil back in the team in any level, he is utterly useless.

One good season in 7 years

One of our worst ever signings

Seriously you either have the memory of a goldfish, are truly clueless about football or both if you think there's a case for Ozil to play.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a little deluded. One of Henrys assist record one season. Many world class moments. Clearly not one of our worst signings

Arteta will get Ozil playing well again to see out his contract. Bookmark

I'm not interested in one good season out of 7, nor is anyone with a brain bad signing, period.

As I already said which you decided to ignore, all the negativity and toxicity Ozil has caused with his attitude and effort levels has to be factored in and that's been going on for at least 3 years now.

I would happily not have had his one good season and never had him at the club, there are so many players that would have been significantly better for us, consistently throughout their would have been Arsenal career.

The new contract is definitely the worst signing in Arsenal history

Up until the new contact he wasn’t that bad

No chance, Arteta's strict on what he wants and Ozil won't change his style of play or attitude at this stage of his career. If he'll bench Laca and Pepe for young players when their attitude isn't even bad then he's not going to pander to Ozil. Some players would get a siege mentality in the situation but I reckon all he cares about now is getting his wages and then leaving.

That one season just ended up fooling us and he's been hanging around like a bad smell ever since. We should have sold him after his 2nd season.
