Clearly we need to ship out a whole contingent of excess players!

If we were to get McKenna and Arter (which I personally doubt) we will have a squad of around 37 players, that is plain crazy, our wage bill must be astronomical, Karanka wanted a squad of no more than 25, surely that must be about right. We have generated around £50m through the academy over the last 4 seasons, and spent very little, £13m for Carvalho, who doesn’t even make the bench is our largest outlay. Sabri should be told has to get rid of AT LEAST 2 for every one he brings in. No sale = no signings.
The £50m from the academy is being used to pay the wages of our massively bloated squad, not to improve it.
Unfortunately when Sabri is sacked, the next manager will demand another bunch of players, and the whole crazy merry go round will start again. Let’s face it, we are between a rock and a hard place, and no matter which way we turn we can’t win.

That makes 9 Central Defenders - absolute madness

A fairly accurate assessment, to be fair. I’d add that pace isn’t his biggest asset ... and he has hammy issues if he does have to sprint. Will be interested to see how he performs though.
