I remember when we used to laugh at arsenal for this mentality. Now many of our fans are left feeling the same way. This is the reality of utd and sadly there is nothing we can do about it as fans
Lucky to get third with ole playing 4231 and shoe horning players in.
He's a young manager but watching it yesterday it felt like watching us under van Gaal. So rigid, no options for the man on the ball and no movement.
Teams like Everton and spurs have strengthened massively and we haven't. We will not get top 4 with this set of players and this manager.

For the richest club in England? Does it need answering?
Should we just magic ourselves into title contenders. City and Liverpool bided their time to get as good as they were the last couple of years.
Only a muppet would think our plan is to just try and get top 4 each season just like only a muppet would think we can just click our fingers and be like city/pool without some serious patience

Noone has asked any of this. Just to show ambition.
Do we? I don't.
Whilst it is likely that third could be the best this season, that doesn't mean to say it's good enough. That's two different things.
The manager can only use the players he has, stating the obvious, maybe we will make another signing or two, I hope so.
I posted an article recently showing on the United web page is that we have five forwards. One is in Germany and the other leaving at the end of the year, So coming into the pressure part of the season we will have three forwards, depending how you count them.
Hence all the noise about Sancho, I feel we need at least two more forwards,.one top quality, the other good enough to fill in.
As Ole cannot knit them it's up to Ed to sign them. Then we have a chance of aiming higher. Which is what we all want despite your doubts.

Nobody is saying we should magic anything up or that we plan for 3rd, but we are currently looking 3rd at best. The club will know that. And the players. And the execs.
That good enough at United nowadays?

you don't magic yourself, you put yourself in the best possible position you can to take advantage of any slips. That is what challengers do
I was working at City post takeover and their ambition was palpable in everything they did. Liverpool have always been ambitious and the minute they got they right manager they backed him all the way.

I answered it in the last sentence
VAR is a joke. Gave a red card for Chelsea yet Cahill last man foul last season 10x more a red card not given.
There’s a massive difference between thinking it’s good enough and being realistic about where we are at as a club right now.
Early days OP. One bad result is not going to define your season. Plenty of teams over the years have got off to say a couple of wins, then ended up getting relegated at the end of the season, and vice versa, teams lose their first two and end up in the top four.

Its.not about 1 result.
Its about the squad, the tactics, the performances, the long term picture.
Deep down we all know, We are not going to win the league with Ole in charge. Just look at Klopp and Pep on the sidelines. Constantly giving instructions and encouragement to their players. While Ole just sits in the stands looking lost.
