WE ARE LIVERPOOL 3 OR 4 SEASONS BACK

The big difference being Frank has no pedigree whereas Klopp has achieved much in the game. Jury still out of FL, even more so now the pressure and expectation is on him having spent a fortune on new players and trying to incorporate 4 or 5 into the first team

I don't see the Liverpool parallels as strongly this season compared to last. As a few Liverpool posters have mentioned they didn't go on a spending surge like we have this summer, they addressed their issue more gradually.

Tactically Klopp & Lampard have acted differently aswell. At this point in Liverpool's development under Klopp they were playing a high risk gegen vs. anyone no matter the immediate cost for the long term purpose of drilling an aggressive pressing & clinical counter game into the squad that makes them so dangerous to this day - their style may have changed the last 24 months but they still have the capacity to play like that (Mane's header yesterday great example, terminator football). Lampard still hasn't settled on one dominant style of play yet, last week we were so fluid you couldn't tell who was playing where in attack, yesterday was your garden variety 433 sit & counter & this goes back to last season as well - it's good/wise short term strategy, but long term doesn't achieve much.

Honestly the parallel I see more now is 03/04 with Pool/City playing the roles of United/Arsenal, right down to Lampard who does remind me of Ranieri a little - he was highly experimental with systems & personnel that season in particular.

Get rid of Fat Frank/Ranieri and bring in Mourinho then.

. Well played Wahl.

When ever I've seen Chilwell defending hasn't looked his strongest area. Not sure why so many think he will solidify the position. Is Alonso really that bad?

Short answer - yes

His best position would be emergency striker (& I mean emergency)...he has no business in our defence

I am very vocal in my dissatisfaction with our approach yesterday. People slate me for saying I think we played into Liverpool's hands by our negative tactics. If we have Werner, Havertz, Mount playing, we can't be camped on the edge of our penalty area. Nor can we afford to leave huge spaces behind for Mane or Salah to run into when we are attacking (red card waiting to happen).

I do believe Lampard can become a very good coach but he has to start playing to our strengths. Liverpool don't try and defend because it's not their strength either. We need to take more risks at home. I don't want us to go down timidly.

Goalkeeper that exudes confidence and authority into the defence has always been one of my priorities.

Former coach: 'Edouard is a top guy, he does not pose any problem, of course.
The opposite. In the game, this morning again in training, he is a driving force, he communicates with everyone, he talks a lot, he is still the leader in the locker room."

We may have just found ourselves a commanding goalkeeper, which has been a pressing requirement more than anything else

Who is going to dare challenge a 6'7 imposing goalkeeper?

Redinthehead, thanks for the input
But I stand by my remarks
But I can tell you this and I am 100% sure, it wont take us 30 years to win another Premiership title.
Just a matter of time, and it will come
I am so relaxed about everything and I think you will find vast majority of our fans know it will take time.
Patience is the key but as always we will get it right in the end

Patience is the one thing your corrupt owner does not posses.

If Lampard fails to win the league or the CL he will be sacked (just like all the others). Uncle money launderer will accept nothing less.

Nah we never went 3-0 down to West Brom.

Thiago silva will be targeted per the weak link that he is... imagine Traore running at him.

Tbf being 0-3 down to a team like West Brom (because of dumb defensive errors) before pulling it back to 3-3 is something you could really imagine Liverpool between 2016-18 doing - even if it didn't happen.

And I disagreed with the comparison.
