true, but we're not in an era of managers driving the team coach and stopping off to but the lads fish and chips any more. we're in an era of data analysis, of commercial income making up 2-3 x matchday income, of mass and social media.
if, last year, 90% of PL clubs had a DOF, and united and newcastle don't, the question is whether everyone else has got it wrong, or we have. and the results on the pitch tell the whole story.
oh, and most importantly we're in an era when the average PL manager last 18 months to 2 years, less than half the length of a typical player contract. so allowing your manager to do whatever he wants, to buy and sell any players he sees fit, only to start all over again with a new manager who may have a totally different style of football, is asking for trouble.

It’s weird that people can’t see this.
‘Any good manager can work with a wide array of players and adapt to different styles and formations.’
Adapting a style based on whoever you inherit when you join a club isn’t really going to get you far is it if you have to compete with managers such as Klopp and Pep who are incredibly skilled managers who build sides that perfectly fit a style they feel works best. Football is a very different game to what it was 30 years ago.

Ole and his coaches conclude they need a winger.
They instruct the head scout of the specific attributes they want.
The scouts report back with reports on players of that type that fit the managers criteria
Ole, the coaches and the head scout consider the targets and it is decided who we should go for.
Enquiries are made with the targets agent.
If the player is interested, then the financial wizard Judge negotiates a fee and personal terms.
Once all is agreed, Ed signs the cheques
Makes perfect sense to me
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You have to wonder what were the attributes they wanted in a RB to end up with AWB who only excels at tackling.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Imagine. A RB brilliant at defending

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is that all?
An amateur recruitment policy then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well.obviously that's not all.
He has stamina, strength, was a winger in his younger days so can improve going forward.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Valencia and Young were also wingers, and they got worse going forwards.
He has little ability on the ball, and I don't see him improving much going forwards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have a little faith
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There's more chance of Martial becoming a top CF 😄
Maybe you should have some faith.
