More hassle than its worth considering very few coaches work the exact same way / don't want certain players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
amazing that most other major clubs across europe, including all the ones actually winning stuff, bother then really.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ahhhh. So when we win anything under the Glazers its in spite of rather than because of, but when other clubs with DOF's win stuff its bevause of rather than in spite of.

So fornthe DOFmodel.you need a list of head coaches good enough to implement the DOFs vision and prepared to work on that set up, plus a list of ready made DOF's capable of continuing/ improving the DOF's vision should he move on.
More hassle than its worth considering very few coaches work the exact same way / don't want certain players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So planning for the future is a hassle now?
Who said the coaches had to work the exact same way?
Why would the coaches/managers want widely different types of players when they play a similar system under this system? That's one of the reasons to get in a DoF. So you don't go from RVP to Rooney to Martial/Rashford to Zlatan to Lukaku and Martial again.

Yes.
He probably means winning stuff like league and CL titles. The trophies United should be competing for.

amazing that a club with a recently installed manager, expected to be there for 1-2-3 years, might need a different structure to when they had a manager who had been in the job for 27 years.
but carry on in your lalaland if you want, where the decision to hire moyes/lvg/jose was 100% correct - well done ed - and money has been made available - well done ed, again - but either 100% of the blame lies with the managers (who had been correctly hired, remember) or we've just been really, really unlucky.
Why is he only expected to be here upto 3 years max?
Did SAF plan to be here 27 years when he joined us?
Who should Ed have appointed? It easy moaning. Its harder to come up with credible alternatives.
Money has been made available that is undeniable.
As for the quality of the players signed, that's largely down to the managers and scouting team.
And let's not forget, Shaw, Lindelof, Bailly, Matic, Pogba, and Martial are still key players for us, with Fred, Dalot, Mata still.in the squad.
as i said, if you're happy, crack on.
but if you can find me another club in world football that has spent as much as we have over the past 7 years, with so little to show for it, then please do. otherwise your claim that "we're doing fine and there's no need for change" rings hollow.

It's a special type of moron that continues to defend the man ultimately responsible for the running of the club.

Indeed. Shift the blame all you like but there is one constant in this failure. Ed hasn't learnt anything. We will need a DoF when (because it will be When under the current set up) to make sure we carry on the progress made. Otherwise it will be another manager with another rebuild and another set back.
So do we appoint a DOF who supports Ole way
Or do we wait until Ole goes and appoint a DOF who has his own vision?
Or do we appoint thr new manager and then appoint a DOF who compliments the new manager?
