so this includes his Southampton stint?
Great record that, he's some player. I got it wrong big time when you signed him, never thought he'd be as good as he's become.
That being said, Ronaldo was an unproven 18 year old when he started playing in the PL for us.

Yeah, I’d still have Ronaldo fairly comfortably ahead of Mane in regards to impact on their respective clubs.

Adding to that, the first 2 (maybe 3) seasons he had he played as a proper right midfielder in a 4, with 2 strikers a lot of the time. He only actually got more than 10 league goals in his last 3 seasons.

Not sure i agree with that. Ronaldo joined a great squad/manager. Yes took a couple of years before his greatness was visible but he was still part of a winning squad.
Mane was the start of the revolution in Klopps first full season.

Maybe, but imo he got United over the winning line as an individual more than Mane has. That’s not underestimating Mane by the way, I’m just saying United were more reliant on Ronaldo than we are on Mane.
That 2007/8 season was ridiculous, just had a look.
34 appearances, 31 goals 6 assists.
Only 4 penalties too, imagine if we'd had the good fortune of last season he could've broke the 40 goal barrier
Both great players but Ronaldo is legendary status with his exploits for his clubs and country. Also done it in various leagues as well. Top professional.
Peak Ronaldo never played in the PL though, or if so, just the three years

Yep. Lots of Arsenal fans wanted Mane and I always shot him down. He has become an incredible player. Ronaldo all day tho
IMO people shouldn't take this as having to "defend" ronaldo.
Mane has had a different path to "the top" and is 28 going on 29 this season.
He's scored 20 a season total for last 3 seasons having been moved to left wing from right wing.
so good for mane, good for klopp.
ronaldo was 18 when he rocked up. Mane is in his prime.

we won the fa and league cup in his first few seasons.
we were a long way behind from the end of 03 to 06 league wise.

Don’t be so defensive, it’s more a case of the op highlighting how good Mane is, I don’t actually think it’s a competitive comparison.
That’s how I read it, anyway....

I didn't read it that way! There was a similar post on FB but swap Mane for Salah. Same argument mind!
Mane joined the PL in his early 20's so was already nearer his peak than Ronaldo when he joined in his teens. Mane has therefore spent most of his peak here. Ronaldo was only just getting into his peak before he left.
Mane is not on the same level as Ronaldo but that is some comparison really.
Think I saw Fabregas say somewhere after the Chelsea victory that Mane is the best player in the league and although you have your De Bryune's, Van Djik's, Aguero's etc, he is certainly in the reckoning.
Don't think you can say he's as good as what Ronaldo was because he is a legendary player, but Mane is certainly an elite player imo.
Is anybody comparing Mane to Ronaldo directly? Not sure that's the case as Ronaldo is clearly the better player.
It does show just how good Mane is that his stats are comparable to Ronaldo who in my opinion is the second best player of all time
and that was prime ronaldo :O
saido 2nd best footballer in the world
amazing
ronaldo was also in a top team the entire time, so half his total to be fair
Always knew Mane was better than Ronaldo. This confirms it.
