Mata still has quality on the ball and passing ability. Much more than most, is not phased by being a back up option.
Hes never had legs, really doesnt make much difference in that regard.

Would you expect a player of any calibre to be match fit and sharp when he is a squad player with limited minutes though? Bale may be in a similar situation at Spurs now.
He was the first name on the teamsheet at Chelsea and was consistently playing, I haven't seen that at United, seems more of a bit part player really.

op, this is a direct consequence of throwing silly money to buy and sign players. Very few clubs can afford the unreasonable wages we pay mediocre players and the few that can are not interestedin mediocre players we want to sell
