On a more serious note, well not serious exactly,, less facetious:
I am hoping for Rashy to get his form back, Martial to score and Bruno to start looking like he did when we signed him, nit like he did when we kneackered him.

Just three weeks ago we finished third, Brighton just escaped relegation, to be fair.
still.... Brighton will win 2-0 I predict.
We are still miles off fitness. Bailly and Maguire must start and Linderloff left at home.
Reality is that we struggled to beat the mighty Luton Town until the very end... and they were saving themselves for their big derby this weekend.
I'm not making a prediction, but I'm not overly optimistic

This isn’t really true. Luton had to wait until the 80th minute to force a save from Hendo.
Brighton have played two more competitive games than us I think? So will be fitter and more ready for it than we are. Plus they’ve had good results the last 2 so will be confident.
Think it’ll be tough, not a surprise (but another massive disappointment) if we don’t win. We should expect 6 from 6 every season from these two fixtures tbh but our preparation won’t have been very good due to the circumstances.
On the Ole bashing, I think people forget we clawed back a 14 point gap (and more) to finish third.
We’ll get up to speed soon, I just think when we do it’ll be too late to think about challenging the top spots seriously

Phew, with the hundreds of millions gulf between the clubs it is reassuring that you can see utd winning

Didn't Wolves lose twice to Huddersfield a few seasons back? Big enough gulf in spending there as well to be fair. As Don said football isn't played on spreadsheets.

The point being 'i can see us winning'. I would be concerned if he said he couldn't see 'us' winning.

If you understood the importance of conditioning and recovery for elite sports professionals, and how their bodies work, you’d know that both have applied to us in the last four months or so.
Ideally, players need 6-7 days between games to maintain peak performance. Games coming quicker than that rate over an extended period results in players doing more damage to their bodies over each 90 min game than they can recover. Basically, their bodies enter into cycles of (soft tissue, in particular) deterioration that heighten the risk of injury and ultimately can only be recovered with longer breaks.
This is why the summer break is so important for elite clubs which demand that their top players turn out twice a week.
Through a longer break, players’ musculoskeletal integrity can be rebuilt and restored, but that can come at the cost of fitness and conditioning. Basically, the job of the fitness coaches and medical staff is to balance conditioning and recovery. Or it should be.
According to Richard Hawkins (our Head of Athletic Performance), the primary purpose of fitness training at the elite level *used* to be pushing the boundaries of human performance and sustaining the highest work rates. Now it is primarily oriented to doing everything possible to keep players injury-free and available to play twice a week.
The scheduling in the game and the pressure for results at the top level is already damaging players’ bodies.
