The thing is we won’t be paying £80m upfront. Those fees will be spread over as long a period as the club could negotiate.

Doesn’t matter when you pay it, you still have to pay it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

If we commit to £80m and have to pay £40m this year and then £40 in the following seasons and get relegated at the end of the first season we carry that debt with us into a division where nobody makes a profit. If you also factor into the equation the higher wages of being a Premier league team then you can see how spending a lot is a major gamble. Yes parachute payments offset it to some degree.

Of course it matters! If we had to pay £80m up front right now we wouldn’t be getting these players.

If we had to pay for our homes up front we’d all be living in sheds!

Talk of shed's reminds me of going to this game and being threatened with a beating when John Hawley scored his third.
Stamford Bridge was a dump back then

Depends how you spend it. We have had a dreadful window so far & currently the side is worse than last season. £40 million plus on Rodrigo & Koch could have possibly secured Ben White which would have won us a point at Liverpool. So far those two so called acquisitions have done nothing but cost us three penalties.
We never learn.

if you need me to explain why that’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve read on this site for a long time, then you’re as stupid as your comment!

We buy highly rated ( by those in the industry), Spanish and German internationals both whose set ups have delivered world cups within the last 10 years, and who have been identified as fitting the system by one of the Worlds top coaches and its disappointing?

I wonder what we'd be saying now if AR and Co weren't going for the players they're bringing in?..

Quality over quantity was the saying not long ago!..

We have a great bunch of players that worked hard to get us where we are, these players deserve their chance to play at the level they've achieved for us, but, quality has to be added or we'll go no further!..

I for one am glad we have who we have now dealing with the money problems than what we've had since Ridsdale left his mark!..

By the way, when are we getting a new badge?.

What you might explain is why just because you disagree with something it is necessarily ridiculous.

The biggest problem you have with so many new additions is trying to integrate them into the squad without ruining the balance of what you already have.

Spurs fell foul of it with the Bale money, as did Liverpool with the Suarez money. Bought about 7 or 8 additions who just didn't gel and made the both teams significantly worse.

Mate, I’m all for opinions and often I’ve changed my own due to debate on this site, I don’t mind that at all.

The reason it’s so ridiculous is because your opinion is formed “dreadful window” with no real foundation what so ever..

firstly it’s not even over yet,

the new players have been here 5 minutes, and you’ve already written them off, I’d suggest bielsas team have tracked these players for a while, or at least done more research than your call after seeing them play on sky sports

Ben white at 40 million? An untested player in the premier league? (As much as I like him)

Who would you have signed to fit into our system?.. also would of complained if we hadn’t of spent money on new players?..

You say if we’d of had the same team we’d of got points vs Liverpool? Really? In a 4-3? That’s guess work! Koch did lots of good things too.. it’s all crystal ball work to say what could of happened

Instead me telling you why I find your comment ridiculous, you tell me why you think it isn’t?

How you can conclude on a dreadful window I don’t know

you see how rattled I am pal? 😂

Honestly?? I will love it if Rodrigo bags a brace tomorrow, love it
