I seem to remember Cardiff a few years ago lost in the playoffs and the following season started the next season just like we've started this one.

Er, you didn't make the playoffs though.

66 years

But not to worry, going by some on here, he just needs a bit of time and a bit of luck

Too many signing Rev from a team who really should have been in the playoffs last season.

Doesn't make sense, yeah it's great to see new faces through the door but a full team, seriously.

I’ve said that from the off - can’t understand why or how so many players have been allowed to join - I can understand 5 or 6 tops - but 11 new players is just totally crazy, especially when you consider we still have so much deadwood on the books

posted on 26/9/20

I've read 12 but that's hardly here nor there at this stage and sitting in the doo doo's.

It's not like we are in position to gloat.

Bottoms up

I also don’t understand all the signings. Some have been really good but some just seem random. If they now sack the manager I don’t understand the strategy. If they allow him to bring in 12 players then sack him a few games later that makes no sense. They must know you don’t build a new team that quickly.

Unless Sabri had no say in the players that came in?

If we get a new manager in the next few weeks then for me that decreases our chances of going up.

I know people are going to be thinking that Sabri has no chance of turning it around. But for me, it was inevitable we would have that start. It happens all the time when teams blow it. Look at Spurs after losing the champions league final. You can see that we just have no confidence.

I guess it’s just a question of when he can get a win, cause regardless of what I think, he will lose his job soon if he keeps losing games. It’s difficult to argue playing a brand new back 4 is a good idea really.

One of them was forced with Worrall breaking his foot - but what about Dawson, he hasn’t had a look in yet, and his chances look even simmer now he’s brought in 3 more centre halves Figs also seems to have dropped out of favour

The problem we have is that we have far too many players to choose from - and I don’t think the manager knows who to play or whom his best starting 11 are

The problem with this is that we once again end up chopping and changing every few games to find a winning formula - no consistency

Then with no consistency the results don’t come and he just heaps more pressure upon himself

Sometimes it’s better to have less options sonthat issue is taken from you

The manager I fear doesn’t know who to start and how to start, which just creates confusion and ultimately panic - and that is what we are seeing

Something has to give, otherwise we’re looking at playing League 1 football next year

No disrespect intended to Huddersfield

But a better team is winning 3-0 here!

........................................................................

What a ridiculous comment. I posted on one of your threads last week, saying that we played half decent against Norwich and Brentford. It was 1-0 at Brentford until the 86th minute, we hit the the post and they scored two late goals, we lost to Norwich due to a ridiculous mistake.

When someone says " no disrespect" it's just a polite way of being disrespectful. We have played probably the best two teams in the league so far, and we haven't done too bad. Once Grant fooks off and we buy a new striker, we should be a half decent side this season.

Forest are still hungover from their disastrous end to last season, but let's be honest, you would have got smashed in the playoffs. You were up there on a wing and a prayer. I remember playing you and thinking, how the hell are they so high up the table , no disrespect < >

We've had massive changes from our stint in the Premier league, and we just about survived last season. I hope to god that our gamble pays off, and that we're comfortable this year. That's all I want, then hopefully we can crack on next season.

All the best.

We are not going to go down, its just a bad start (🤞)

If we change managers then we will have the same problem, he will also not know his best team and we will be inconsistent.

Buying 12 players every year and a new manager does not work. The new manager will just be under pressure by Xmas if we are not challenging. No one ever gets the time. It’s just a merry go round of failure. For me we need to change that. Otherwise players just see us as a way of getting money in and not having to work hard and no decent manager will touch us with a barge pole.

Hydywirralterrier, I think that was just a poor choice of words, I think ‘a more clinical team’ would have been 3-0, sums it up better. Let’s be honest that’s 2 seasons on the bounce you have beaten us at yours, that isn’t coincidence, bearing in mind we not lost 4 games away all last season. Does that make more sense to you ?

Makes more sense Dave, good name btw

What's happened to Lolley? Has his head been turned? I do think Labi Siffre is on his last legs, and I think he'll be sacked soon.

Lolley got ‘hooked’ after 30 mins against Cardiff, I personally think he is still carrying an injury. Sabri probably has about 4 games to save his job, personally I don’t think he will survive. We are too inconsistent, we’ve had 2 decent halves of football, unfortunately they were in different games, but for that excellent save by Hamer from Ameobi, and some very questionable refereeing, in favour of both teams, the outcome may have been different. The ref last night missed 3 blatant red cards, but he wasn’t the reason we lost, a bit like you we are not clinical at the right time. Campbell for his goal, which he took really well, stood on the penalty spot unmarked for about 5 seconds, surely someone should have picked him up. Good luck for the season, with a bit of fortune and a 15 goal a season striker you’ll be ok.

Feel we have reached a real decision point with the manager. Our record spread over the latter part of last season and into this has been filthy. Rather than looking forward to match day, it always has a very flat feeling. Almost expect the worst and when we concede, l rarely expect any sort of positive reaction.
Cannot remember the last time we dominated and dictated the pace of a match. We allow teams to have too much comfortable possession.

The new player argument is acceptable up to a point, but that is little more than an excuse, when you look at our record over the last twenty matches or so - interestingly enough takes us back to the Leeds match (20 games/4 wins/7 draws/9 losses).
We were lucky only to lose by such a slim margin in the end. Lamouchi is such a nice man, that even the local press don’t like to take him to task to any great extent. In an interview yesterday, he seemed resigned to the fact that he didn’t know what else to do 😬

It all went belly-up for Lolley after we drew with Villa 5-5. Lolley destroyed them and Villa were supposed to have made a big money offer which was knocked back. I think Joe wanted to go. After that he got niggly injuries and was played when unfit. Then the failure to make the playoffs which hit him and others badly.

I don't know whether he'll recover or if he needs a new club. But he doesn't justify selection at the moment.

Lolley is a massive Villa fan, but he suffers from shin splints, apparently its the way he runs. He was always injured with us.

Shin splints are agony, I got them when I was doing a lot of road running, many years ago, but they are agony. There is only one cure, rest, but they will probably return, it’s a real shame because he is one of my favourite players, not always brilliant but always gives his best, and can score some absolute worldies.

I too suffer from them, so I feel his pain.
