Has Nagelsman won lots of trophies?
Does he speak English?
Would he want to join a club outside of the EU.
Does him family if he has one, move to Manchester.?
What style does he like and would we have the players to play it?
Does he like to promote youth?
Etc

So having won lots of trophies is important? Why do you want Ole to keep the job then? Oh yeah, he used to play for us, that's right!

He's German, of course he speaks English.

The locality of the family is an issue for any managerial appointment, it doesn't preclude you from making an approach, which is all I said we should do. I didn't say we should kidnap him! Likewise for the EU thing.

He likes quick, counter attacking football, getting up the pitch as quickly as possible. So I doubt that would be too much of a departure for our players. The only issue that may have is that they'll be wondering why we aren't going 6 at the back whilst defending a lead.

Salzburg are basically used as the RB Liepzig youth system and they have regularly signed players from them and interested them into the first team.

What criteria did Ole meet for you, just out of interest?

No I don't think Ole should have or keep the job because he played for us

.
I think he should keep the job because he has progressed the team and club and doesn't deserve to be sacked.

When he arrived there was a lot of deadwood on high wages, he's not doing to bad in gradually getting rid of them.

His promoting and handling of younger players is exemplary?

His results so far this year have been excellent.

He's difficult to fault at the moment. When he is, is the time to sack him.

Fair points. I don't think we should sack him either, it would be crazy after two games this season, based on how we finished last season and the difficult and unprecedented circumstances at the start of this year.

Like I said though, I don't think he'll ever be good enough to to stand toe to toe with Pep and Klopp and if and when the time does come to replace him, I think Nagelsmann should certainly be a guy we look at.

Sorry for being spiky and borderline patronising in my response by the way. We got the result today and I'm sure performances will improve over the coming weeks and months. Hopefully we can get a result against Spurs next week, regardless of performance and then I think we'll be much sharper after the international break

The thing is we had many games we deserved to win by a few goals since Ole was appointed in 2018 that we failed to even win. We are probably due another 5 or 6 like that. It was a miracle we drew so many games last season in the league when probably in 10 of those draws stats combined probably had 100 shots more than the opposition.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
None, I was surprised when he was appointed. The fact he played for us is immaterial to me.
Being German is not I guarantee of speaking English.
No Ole hasn't won any trophies yet, but neither has Nagelsman.
In fact I don't see anything he has done to show he's greatly superior to Ole
. Are you anti Ole because he was a player for us so you can't imagine he could be any good.
I mean it's not on results is it

I think he was only appointed because he was a player for us. And I don't think his results have been anything to write home about whilst he's been our manager. Though they did definitely improve at the tail end of last season

What is expected of him.

Tbf, he was close to toast before we signed Bruno, we were pretty atrocious till end of Jan, now I'm not saying we'll be just as bad again but...if things are like they were pre Bruno come Christmas, then he will be under a lot of pressure.

I agree with that, but as I understand it he wanted him at the start of the season, but for whatever reason we did not get him until January.
But it shows that Ole knew what he was missing.

Anyone think he should be captain, not Harry?

I've never been ole out. I always saw him as a "steady the ship" appointment and sort out the mess at the club and basically prepare a squad for a manager that would be high profile and look to take us to the next level

Post Moyes there were real issues at the club and LVG and Jose found that out. A manager like Poch wouldn't want to come to utd post Moyes as he would want instant success after the hat he did at spurs (only an example as I don't see the fuss with poch tbh)

The players we have now may not be Liverpool and city level as a team but they should certainly be better than CP and BHA. Or at least compete and have a style and a plan.

We look disjointed and panicky. Our defenders are made to look bad as we are constantly under pressure. Our forwards don't move and our MF have no control. This for me is less about the players and more about management.

With our current squad a half decent manager would or should have a style or plan to give the opposition a game. We won today but BHA showed a style and spirit we haven't had in a long time. Their players are barely household names but they attacked in number and but for the woodwork and a bit of quality up front would have hammered us today

Ps Chelsea are showing that signings with an inexperienced manager make no difference. Give the celsea squad to a decent manager and it's a different game today

Yes, the sooner the better. Poor tactics, poor team selection, poor substituons. His signings are beginning to dissolve like salt in water : James is poor, AWB is a good tackler but a poor defender, and Maguire is not half the player we thought he would be. He also prefers the horrible Lindelof to Smalling and Bailly. The United job is just too big for home.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Maguire is exactly the player I thought he would be. I laughed when I thought City were going after him after the WC, then lamented when we did.

I've heard worse shouts. I always prefer a CM as captain, particularly one who's vocal and gets about the pitch like Bruno does. As a player in that role, with those attributes, can see what's going on all over the pitch and can communicate it quickly and clearly.

I know this is hypothetical.

Love to see you actually go to a game at OT and go into the Blaize beforehand and come out with the crap you do.

You wouldn't last 2 minutes.

Have / do. I know most of the lad / their dads / uncles.

Ole stabilised us and has done OK for a few windows, but this is gonna take more than throwing money at it. This needs a top coach, with innovative ideas.

How long do you guys think we can keep the big commercial deals coming in to fund the constant need for hugely expensive additions whilst finishing 3rd, 4th or 5th?

If they came along now, would we get the next Giggs, Ronaldo or Rooney over City, Liverpool, Chelsea right now?

Before you know it, its 10 years without a title and reputation for expensive flops and wasted young talent.
