Is he Frank's new scapegoat after Kepa was dropped?

Been saying it since the end of Conte’s first season 🤷🏿‍♂️

Absolutely spot on. He is so predictable many times, its so painful to watch this guy on the pitch. Nevertheless we should also focus on Tammy Abr performance the other day. What he did apart his goal? I offers nothing. If hGiri is miles ahead of him.

Tammy’s last two games = 2 goals and three assists.

Is be quite happy for Tammy to do nothing all season except get 2 goals and 3 assists every 2 games.👍

More than Timo Torres is contributing currently.

Thought James was worse in the first half, but I guess that isn’t a fashionable opinion.

And because it isn’t true. Thought James was one of our better players first half. Got megged for the shot and gave too much space, but even all thst can from alonso in the first place

The whole team was a circus act in the first half,so fair play to the lads for the comeback.

Still a work in progress.

Alonso’s poor play created the opening for the first goal, he got a yellow within the first 15 minutes and was literally subbed off at HT.

Alonso was at his best under Conte. Playing wing back took away a lot of defensive responsibility from him as we had covering centre backs and played to his strength putting in decent crosses and scoring goals. Alas he's slower than he ever was and full back never suited him whilst at Chelsea. Frank never understood the latter and left him exposed. His time here is up but I'm still happy with the golden moments he gave us so let's just be a bit kinder and let him slip out quietly.

We played worse in the first half vs. Brighton (who played better than WBA did) & were winning.

Was a weird, freaky half of football.

He absolutely does...and it's about time he dropped him permanently

Agree that Alonso was poor yesterday and has generally become a liability. Certainly at fault for the 1st goal and losing his man on the 3rd goal. The only positive is that we have Chilwell to come and be the first choice LB, so Alonso will be used much less frequently.

To me it's literally like playing with 10 men when he's playing

He's a decent (not brilliant) player but he's not being used in a position that (a) he's used to or (b) he's any good at.

Classic case of a square peg in a round hole, which is not really his fault.

Yeah, he needs to be replaced for that position but at least support him if he's got the shirt on!

From I'd be interested to know what you think he's good at and where he should play...?

and yes I would love to support him while he's got the shirt on but he doesn't do anything to inspire me to do so

He's always been a more offensive tool as opposed to defensive Sheriff.

He's not top drawer at that either but I think the stick he gets for playing in an unnatural position is slightly unfair.

I'm electrical by trade but if my employer sent me out with instructions to do some plumbing I'd probably get a bit of critisism over my performance as well!

Yep. He's a hotel chef playing the role of an assembly line cook, and from personal experience let me tell you that rarely goes well

Best Alonso analogy I heard with on a Tifo Podcast a few months ago. As a LB he's Clark Kent, as a WB he's Superman.

Nah fack that. He's not even a good footballer. One footed, slow as hell in both mind and body, negative in play, useless in all positions as he's not even consistent in whatever his best position is. Had a tiny purple patch but still you could see what he really was in between the highlights.
