Funny that you didn't think they had an anti Mourinho agenda when he managed United and in fact claimed they got all the decisions.

You could be right, maybe it`s an anti Spurs agenda then. How else do you explain our regular shaftings by referees and VAR, and not just today, it has been going on for years.

Didn’t Spurs benefit more than most with VAR decisions last season?

Spurs would have finished six points worse off in tenth without VAR last season. Liverpool would have still won the league.

Keep it up Bitter Bill, you're hilarious.

Said it all afvcking long how they're changing the game to suit clueless armchair fans and had countless idiots on here tell me how VAR will make the game better and only be used to correct mistakes etc. Now we're left with this shambles where the rules, and the sport itself, is going to be constantly messed with and potentially ruined when there was nothing fundamentally wrong with it in the first place.

I'm here to tell everyone that was pro VAR: I told you so. You're wrong, it is spoiling the game, and it'll only get worse. Until they get rid of it (they won't because there's more online fans than real supporters) I'll just be another plastic from here on out, might tune in for the hyped games and finals etc. It's not the game I love anymore.

People need to stop blaming VAR. VAR doesn’t make the rules, it just makes sure the rules are applied. It’s actually being used far better this season than last, with refs actually going over to check their decisions themselves and actually acknowledging their own errors.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Apart from they are selective what they look at, depending on the club involved, there have been many instances of decisions not being reviewed that were far more clear cut errors than other decisions that were over turned or retained.

Look no further than the Newcastle hand ball today, his arm was not out stretched, but his arm clearly blocks a pass to Kane and moves towards the ball, yet nothing was given and no review by VAR.

I actually think a lot of the officials have an anti Mourinho agenda, hence why we are almost always on the wrong end of any kind of debatable decision.

And I'm telling you VAR is great and now the game is fair and everybody treated the same. Your problem is with the law. As stated before, VAR only alerts the referee to potential errors, it doesn't make the rules.

Some people don't like change, even if it's for the better but as time goes on they learn to accept it. We could never go back to crazy errors like in the past, having seen decisions now being correct. Remember the offside goal Liverpool scored a couple of seasons ago? Milner was literally two metres offside ffs. Blatant penalties ignored, penalties given for blatent dives. Players sent off for nothing or not sent off for blatent Red card offences and even players sent off for something their teammate did!

It's here to stay, you'll just have to deal with it. The law however, perhaps they will look into that due to the outrage it is causing already only three games in. Personally I'm fine with it, although I didn't think the one against Lindelof, in United's first game should have been a penalty.

Not often I offer comment. But I'm with Bales.

I'm all for better refs. That bald ref was great. Not the Man utd fab one but the bald Italian. The game in the late 1990s pre var was a better watch than it is now. No contest.

But refs of his quality are few and far between. Also, the game is now so fast that refs can’t be expected to get everything right, it’s virtually impossible. Add to that the dark arts are getting darker with regards to players going down and the refs definitely need help.

I think anyone with an understanding of the essence of the game and who hasn’t grown up with Sky Sports is probably in this boat tbh.

didn't see your game but these highlights are disgusting.
i'm afraid for the game. games that should be won are lost and games that should be lost are won (or drawn).
might as well flip a coin.

Your post is contradictory TOOR.

First you state that; ‘‘VAR only alerts the referee to potential errors, it doesn't make the rules.’’

Then you write: ‘’ We could never go back to crazy errors like in the past, having seen decisions now being correct.’’

VAR is highlighting the tiniest of ‘errors’ such as the Joel Ward handball yesterday or the Dier handball today, decisions that only a couple of seasons ago would never have been considered infringements. Its being used far too liberally, overturning decisions that didn’t need overturning or making decisions that shouldn’t be made.

It’s not really simply highlighting obvious errors. This whole ‘clear and obvious’ mantra appears to have become redundant. Additionally it’s highlighting offside decisions that can barely even be established looking at a still. It’s nonsense

No ones suggesting to go back to allowing ridiculous decisions to be stand. This is where the rules and VAR have got it so wrong.

I'm all for being magnanimous when it comes to last minute equalisers, and have long been a voice of positivity after disappointing results but this is something different and leaves a nasty aftertaste. If it were just one poor decision I could take it after a day or two, but not this time. I've lost a big part of why I enjoyed the Premier League and football in general.

The clear and obvious side to it was what most had a problem with last season, and it’s seemingly been addressed. Now people are unhappy with it for the opposite reason. And where do you draw the line at clear and obvious? I’m not sure you can, so we’re left with cancelling out as many incorrect decisions as possible. The refs are now going across to check the screens themselves and seem to be willing to overturn their own decisions from what we’ve seen so far. It’s all an improvement on last season.

Perhaps I’m missing something but how have some of the penalties been given so far been clear and obvious ?

Palace v United
Saints v Spurs
Spurs v Newcastle
Palace v Everton

Nothing clear or obvious about shy of them. Awful decisions, and we are only a couple of weeks in
